"This is a fantastic idea", I thought to myself. Get a professional graffiti artist to paint one of the Funcup Australia race cars! It will give it an individual look and would be a great story to talk about right here, in the Funcup Australia news!

But hang-on, how do you get a someone who has the skills and the motivation to do this? Well, the magic of Social Media comes to the rescue once again. I put the message out on Facebook and was excited when Damien Arena from www.image-maker.com.au came back to me.

Damien has dedicated his life to the Rattlecan Art industry and has built a successful business painting for commercial, residential and community art projects.

On a business front we can see a connection with Damien's Image Maker company as we are also putting ourselves out there for what we love to do!

Nico's Bathurst Run!

Opportunities to drive racecars at Bathurst are rare, but even more-so for the young Formula Ford stars, as open wheel cars don't get a lot of invites to this iconic track.

So when Nico Mendez and the G-Force Motorsport crew got the chance to race, we were in!

A lifelong dream for Nico and his family has always been to race at Bathurst. Nico represented himself, his commercial partners and the team well.

Qualifying just outside the top ten was a great start for the young charge, but race one was over very early when another competitor braked suddenly on the exit of The Cutting, with Nico rendered a spectator by the damage to the car.

This resulted in a last place start for Nico in race 2, where he excelled by moving forward to 8th position by the race end.

Nico put in purple sectors ( fastest ) and took the third fastest lap! a great result for a young guy on his first run at the mountain!

CHALLENGE BATHURST 2024

ARE YOU UP FOR THE CHALLENGE?

Funcup Australia took the plunge in 2023 and attended Challenge Bathurst with three of our Funcup drivers, and it was an awsome event!

So what is Challenge Bathurst? Challenge is a two-day Sprint and two-day Regularity event held on the iconic Mount Panorama, Bathurst racetrack, usually in November.

The event gives you approximately seven x 20-minute sessions over two days on track and its THE bucket list event each year.

It's by Invitation Only:

This means it's a difficult event to get a run as each year the teams that have run before are offered first right of refusal. This usually fills the grid pretty quickly. As one of those teams Funcup Australia / G-Force Motorsport are on the top of the list.

There is no pressure to push 110% on these days, you can drive within yourself and just experience this amazing track, or you can go hard and find the time on the track, it's up to you.
