"Orangeville is a town full of love and support," said Nicole. "Born and raised in Orangeville by a family of entrepreneurs, it makes my heart happy to see so many other supportive business owners raising each other up. You always know your community has your back."

Utility boxes transformed into beautiful displays by local artists

Two new colourful art pieces created by local artists have transformed functional utility boxes into lively works of art as part of the Town of Orangeville’s Utility Box Art Display Program. The program, which launched in 2016, recognizes local artists, celebrates the Town’s culture and history, and promotes Orangeville as an arts and culture hub for the region. There are now 35+ pieces of original works of art adorning Orangeville utility boxes.

Orangeville Winter

Artist: Jess Ronald

Location: First St. and Hansen Blvd.

The acrylic painting captures the breathtaking spectacle of a neon-infused sunset above the rolling farmlands of Orangeville. The canvas comes alive as neon orange clouds drape the skies, casting their radiant warmth upon the terrain below. A delicate dusting of pale blue snow glistens in the fading light, a striking contrast to the rich orange hues of the harvested fields.

Jess specializes in vibrant Canadian landscapes. She predominantly works with acrylic paint on canvas, but aspires to grow more in digital art, movement, and immersive artistic experiences.

Spirit of Community

Artist: Deb Menken

Location: First St. near Swiss Chalet

The piece was sponsored by Orangeville Hydro as part of their continued support for the Utility Box Art Display program. This diptych reminded the artist of a Caribbean restaurant district, perfect for this particular location. It brings to mind all the flavours and smells of a vibrant, diverse restaurant district in a community that values good food. The bright colours add to the joy felt during a warm summer night on the town with friends.

Deb Menken is an avid artist who creates abstract pieces in acrylic and mixed media. She is an active member of Headwaters Arts and often leads workshops at Maggiolly Art.
