On May 14, the Fund for Women hosted the Grant Awards Dinner Celebration. It was a wonderful evening celebrating 18 nonprofits that were awarded $227,323 to help empower women and girls through various programs which will leave a lasting positive impact on communities in the First State.

The Driving Force Award was presented to Kelly Sheridan. Kelly has served several roles on the Fund for Women board and continues to be a champion for the efforts at the southern end of the state.


Kelly works at the Delaware Community Foundation where she manages the grant programs, supervises the Youth Philanthropy Boards in Kent and Sussex counties, and manages the online Grant Portal. She also continues to be an integral part of the FFW Sussex County Development Committee. Kelly Sheridan’s unwavering commitment to empowering women and girls has made a profound and lasting impact on both the Fund for Women and the communities it serves.

Women's Forum - Wellness for the Whole Woman

September 30

Cambria Hotel, Rehoboth Beach, DE


Time: Check in: 8:30 a.m. / Event: 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Venue: Cambria Hotel, Rehoboth Beach

Tickets: $50 per person, includes lunch (provided by Cambria).


Sessions will include the following topics:

  • Financial Health & Estate Planning led by Cindy Szabo & Jvonne Oliver
  • Mature Women’s Health Issues led by Amanda Watson & Nancy Morris, M.D.
  • Safety for Women: Protecting Yourself led by Cpl. Patrick Jackson, Delaware State Police
  • Navigating a Health Crisis: Yourself or a Loved One led by Ruth Pryor and Kim King
  • Stress Management: Meditation & Movement led by Susan Rivers

First Founders Breakfast - October 15

Riverfront Events

Time: Doors open 7:30 a.m. Program begins 8:00 a.m.

Venue: Riverfront Events, 760 South Justison Street, Wilmington, DE

Tickets: $50 pp • Tables of 8 - $400.

The First Founders' Award will be presented to Louie Phillips for her integrity, leadership, and commitment to Delaware philanthropy in improving the lives of others in our community. 


Join us as we honor Louie with this well-deserved award.

This event typically sells out - reserve your tickets early.

Founders: Call for Volunteers – If you are attending the First Founders Breakfast and would like to volunteer to help with any of the following, please send us an email. Many hands make for light work!

  • Registration and welcome (need to arrive approx. 20 minutes before start time)
  • Selling 50/50 Raffle Tickets
  • Help at the Fund for Women display table after presentation
  • Help with post-event clean up and pack up promotional materials

Annual Fashion Show & Luncheon - November 2

The Fashion Show is always a great time for fashion, fun, and philanthropy. Enjoy lunch, networking, shopping with participating boutiques, and raffles.
