Owning a home is a lot of work, and mainly, a whole lotta organization. One thing that's really helped me along my home ownership journey is putting together a Household Organization Binder - and putting everything I need within.

If you're not familiar with the concept of a home organization binder, it's a binder that holds frequently accessed information all in a safe place - it allows for easy access, reference and if you have family members, or young children - it makes it easier to keep track of all their important information!

Today I'm going to breakdown some common sections you should include in your binder, plus a ton of FREE printables (Yes, they're all actually free) plus instructions and reference photos!

Medical Binder How-To

If you have children or are the primary care-taker for a parent a Medical Binder can be truly valuable. I'd suggest you create this binder separately from your 'home binder' as it'll have confidential medical information that'll you'll want to keep secure when not using!

Why this is great: it can be hard to take care of a parent, especially if they're dealing with memory loss or if they are hard of hearing. A bonus feature of this binder is it also allows for the functionality between siblings if you and your siblings are both sharing the caretaking role. Finally, this can help your parent stay organized with their own information and allows them to better advocate for their health and well-being!
New Home Binder How-To

If you're moving into a new home, or you're renovating your current home, consider creating a section in your binder that contains:

  • Paint Swatch Information, Tile Names, Flooring Choice Info
  • HVAC warranty's for Fridge, Dishwasher, Stove, Microwave Etc.
  • Inspection, Appraisal Documents, moving company, realtor, HOA, home insurance company, and more!
