How to Help Children, Families, and Communities Manage COVID-19
COVID-19 has impacted all of us in ways we could never have imagined. What can preventionists do to help their communities manage this impact? That’s what we set out to answer in our upcoming co-hosted webinar with our friends at Southeast MHTTC on August 5 at 11:00 a.m. EST.

Maureen Underwood, LCSW, is joining us to discuss how we can use prevention strategies to manage the impact of COVID-19 on communities, families, and children. Maureen has a practice specialty in grief and trauma and has worked with children and families since the 1980s. She is a previous winner of the Social Worker of the Year by the New Jersey chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).

Learn How to Leverage
Health Equity to Improve Prevention
Understanding and managing systematic health inequities and disparities is key in community-based prevention efforts. Inconsistent access to resources and educational materials aimed at bolstering health equity is an issue that is prevalent in many communities across the country. What can prevention specialists do to help? That was the subject of our webinar with Dr. Cerise Hunt, “Leveraging a Health Equity Approach to Improve Prevention Efforts.”

Dr. Hunt discussed how prevention professionals can identify the environmental and social factors that contribute to health disparities, and how they can pursue universal health equity as a goal to make their own prevention efforts more effective.
