Line of Duty Death

Selma Police Officer

Campaign Goal: $200,000

The Fresno Deputy Sheriff’s Association would like to offer our sincere sympathy to the family of the Selma Police Officer killed in the line of duty and the entire Selma Police Department.

On Tuesday, January 31st, the officer was on patrol in a residential neighborhood near Rose and Mitchell Avenue when a neighbor stopped him to report a suspicious person in the area. A short time later, investigators say the officer located the suspicious person and attempted to contact him when he was gunned down. Additional officers who responded attempted to provide life-saving measures, but his injuries were too severe. He died at the hospital a short time later.

We are supporting the Selma Police Officer’s Association and have established a memorial fund for the family of the fallen officer.

Thank you for the heartfelt messages and condolences being sent to the Selma Police Department. As you can imagine this is a very difficult time. This is the first time a law enforcement officer has been killed in Selma. Your support is so greatly appreciated. All donations will be given to the family of the fallen officer.
