6 Minimum Control Measures

The City of Perry’s Stormwater Management Division includes stormwater personnel responsible for overseeing municipal operations that are regulated by a Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Phase II entity to meet the conditions of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit.

The purpose of the MS4 Program is to design Six Minimum Control Measures to reduce the discharge of pollutants to the “maximum extent practicable” (MEP), protect water quality, and satisfy the appropriate water quality requirements of the Clean Water Act.

The implementation of these six elements and associated Best Management Practices (BMPs) are expected to result in significant reduction of pollutants discharged into receiving waterbodies.
