Touching stories, great food, live music, special honors, and an array of guest speakers made for an evening to remember.

Over a dozen former summer missionaries (dating back to the 80s and traveling from as far away as Chicago) joined us for the first ever Great Critter Reunion the night of the anniversary celebration.

If you missed it, you will be blessed to watch God's faithfulness unfold in the history video here, and in the testimonials included here in the program recording.

Special thanks to the SNY Praise Team for live music, the North Carolina WMU volunteer group for helping with set up and take down, and for all who attended to help us commemorate this exciting milestone.

Next time you visit the Gano Mission Center stop by the Mildred McWhorter Missionary Building (MMMB) next door and see our history in living color along the central interior wall. "This visual timeline brings the WOW factor of God's faithfulness over the first six decades of our ministry," shares Executive Director Jeff Chadwick.

"This display will give volunteers and other visitors a quick sense of the ministry milestones we have experienced along the way."

Adds Jeff, "I want to give a volunteer shout out to Randy Canik for his precision installation work which was completed in time for our 60th anniversary tours."

The MCH theme verse stretching across the timeline is I John 3:18, "Let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth."

Happiness is...praise music with some furry friend

Loyal volunteers from Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church brought a lot of love to the senior ministry recently, in the form of several four-legged, tail wagging visitors. "I just know that aches and pains and any loneliness or heartache quickly vanished when these volunteers and their furry friends entered the room that day," says Center director Lucia Ayala. "The Hispanic praise and worship leader led our seniors in worship that touched their hearts. We appreciate Memorial Drive for supporting Gano for many years in many ways, especially for making our seniors so happy."

MINISTRY MOMENTS UP CLOSE

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: Joy Center volunteer Maria Luisa Almarez followed God's leading to be an evangelist to a family in the community. While visiting the family who had experienced a loss of a relative, she felt led to share the gospel in that moment and all 12 people in the home accepted Christ.

In October, the Joy Mission Center hosted Mixteco Ballet Folklorico to bring smiles and cultural education and enrichment to children from the Magnolia Park area in the Greater East End. "The children watched the beautiful performances and then tried their hand at a dance led by the performers," shares Vanessa Ortiz, Joy Center Director.

Joy Center Mission Market set for

November 19

The November 19 Mission Market will facilitate the "community serving the community" by providing a forum for residents to do business with each other.

SNY volunteers hosted a fall festival for the Gano community complete with a prayer table and plenty of prayer warriors to share Christ with attendees.
