COUNCIL MEMBER RODRIGUEZ PUBLIC SCHEDULE FOR CAR FREE DAY
 
New York, NY -- On Earth Day, tomorrow, Council Member Rodriguez will be leading NYC's first, fully organized Car Free Day. He will be making stops at several events and street closures throughout Manhattan, using various forms of public transportation to highlight the many ways New Yorkers have to get around without a car.

8:00 AM - Academy and Broadway: I.S. 52 Earth Day Parade. School children from I.S. 52 in Inwood march around the neighborhood with their marching band to highlight environmental sustainability.

10:00 AM - 23rd Street and Broadway: Press Conference with Commissioner Trottenberg, Elected Officials and Car Free NYC Stakeholders.

10:00 AM - 11:00 AM - Street Closures on Broadway between 17th and 23rd streets: Various activities and promotions to celebrate car free day.

11:00 AM - Bike ride from Union Square to Washington Square Park: CM Rodriguez will ride a Citi Bike to Washington Square Park where more streets will be closed to celebrate Car Free Day. CM Rodriguez will participate in activities here until 11:45 AM

12:00 PM - NY Water Taxi Ride, Christopher Street to 39th Street: Council Member Rodriguez will take a NY Water Taxi along the Hudson River from Christopher Street to 39th Street to promote water transportation in NYC and west side ferry access.

1:30 PM - Wadsworth Avenue Street Closings - Council Member Rodriguez will arrive uptown at the Wadsworth Avenue street closings in Washington Heights where he will have a press availability and announce the winners of the 10th Council District Participatory Budgeting Process.
