Learn About Combatting the Opioid Crisis at a Local Level
October is Talk About Your Prescriptions Month,” aimed at fostering discussion about prescription medications and how to be mindful of potential dangers. A surprising number of people get medications from family members or friends. That’s why the conversation about prescription medications and their misuse is so important.

Encouraging discussion about substance use is just one key part of the work of the Opioid Response Project, a collaborative learning model spearheaded by the UNC School of Government’s ncIMPACT Initiative. The Opioid Response Project works toward promoting and enabling meaningful policy change at the local and state levels through education, prevention, and treatment efforts in communities across North Carolina.
