Welcome to a new PMC!
Hello Publications and Media Community! Welcome back to a new semester. We have some exciting updates to share with you regarding our programs, staff, board members, and more! Keep reading to find out more.

Open hours: Weekdays 9am to 5pm
Our Programs and Services
Starting this semester, the PMC is offering 6 free programs for all student publication and media organizations!
Design Consulting: Request design consulting services (Flyer Design, Logo Design, Print Layout Design, Brand Design, Adobe CC Training) for your RSO from our on-staff Design Consultant.
Distribution : Have your physical publications distributed at 12 locations, on and off-campus. Digital distribution platform coming soon!
Equipment Checkout : Rent out professional camera, lighting, audio, and other media equipment to practice your skills as content creators of film, photography, print publication layout and design, and more.
Events : Attend PMC events and workshops like Student Media Live and Student Media Academy. Get marketing support through cross-promotion and free feature on our website, social media, and newsletter, reaching thousands of students.
Space Reservation : Reserve meeting or studio space for your RSO weekly. 5 hours/week maximum.
Storage Space : Archive publications and prints in our cages in Hearst Gym.

9/15: PMC Open House
Thanks to everyone who helped make this event a success! We had a great turn-out from the community and it was a pleasure meeting you all! If you didn’t have the chance to come out to our open house last Friday, then stop by our office in MLK 177 or email us @studentmedia.berkeley.edu with any inquiries you might have regarding the Publications and Media Center, Community, or one of the many services that we provide.

9/22: CalSLAM presents: Latinx Workshop + Open Mic/2ND PRELIMINARY SLAM
The evening will begin at 7:30PM in the Tilden Room (located on the 5th floor of MLK) with a workshop closed to Latinx-identified folks. Then, we will follow open with an open mic prioritizing Latinx voices. Finally, the event will commence with a POETRY SLAM, open to all folks to compete for a spot at Grand Slam--and from there to CUPSI 2018! Read more on Facebook .

9/28: BCEC presents: How To Succeed in the Performing Arts Business Without Really Trying
The evening will begin at 7:30PM in Stephens, MLK (3rd Floor). The networking event will host the following professionals:

9/29: CalSLAM presents: API Workshop + Open Mic/3RD PRELIMINARY SLAM
The evening will begin at 7:30PM in the Tilden Room (located on the 5th floor of MLK) with a workshop closed to Asian or Pacific Islander identified folks. Then, we will follow open with an open mic prioritizing API voices, as well. Finally, the event will commence with a POETRY SLAM, open to all folks to compete for a spot at Grand Slam--and from there to CUPSI 2018! Only four spots left!!!!

9/29: Submit to Clio's Scroll, the Berkeley Undergraduate History Journal!
Clio’s Scroll is looking for new submissions to their Fall 2017 journal! Clio’s Scroll welcomes submissions from undergraduate students and recent graduates of any university. The editors look for articles that contribute to historical knowledge with new content and original interpretations. Research papers of any length—although we highly favor papers under 60 pages—from all universities, history courses, and historical areas of focus are welcome. No previously published articles are accepted. If your essay is under review by another journal, let us know in your email. Review more submission details here .

LEAD Center Leadership Video Collaborative
$2K contract job for student videographer(s)

Good at videography? The LEAD Center has begun a project to create a minimum of 15 high quality videos designed to respond to questions and concerns commonly raised by students involved in student organizations. The goal of this project is to provide students with effective, informative answers to their questions through videos that are easily accessible and appealing. The student(s) hired to produce these videos will be hired on a contract basis for the duration of this project. This is great opportunity for anyone looking to get their foot in the door within the realm of video production and editing.
