Hélène Brunet
Canadian soprano Hélène Brunet will be one of the specially featured artists during next weekend's Live Stream Sparkle Event on Saturday September 12th at 5:00 p.m.

Hailed by the critics as "a singer of tremendous quality" with "a voice of perfect beauty" and "sincere expression," Hélène Brunet is recognized for her interpretations of the works of Bach, Handel, and Mozart, and her repertoire extends from Baroque to the music of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Hélène's first performances with ABS were in 2010 when she was a member of the inaugural ABS Academy. That year, she sang the role of Maria Maddalena in Handel's La Resurrezione. Since then, she has returned to perform Handel's Messiah, Bach's Saint Matthew and Saint John Passions, Bach's Christmas Oratorio and "Hunting" Cantata, an "ABS Exclusive" this past January, and she was the featured artist at last year's annual ABS Gala.

We asked her about her experiences with ABS, and she spoke about those in the following three videos. The fourth video is an exquisite performance of one of the songs that she sang at the "ABS Exclusive" concert. It's a beautiful French song composed by Émile Paladilhe in 1911 titled Psyché.

Q: You've performed Handel's Messiah with ABS in Grace Cathedral three times in 2015, 2016, and 2019. What brings you back each time?
Q: We've all been so moved by your performances in both of Bach's Passion settings. Would you share with us your experiences in those concerts?
