Imani never imagined she would become
homeless or become a survivor of domestic
violence. Growing up in Detroit with her
mother and two brothers, she describes her
childhood as happy and full of love. After
high school, she fell in love with someone
she had known since school, and together
they welcomed a son.
But over time, the relationship she
once believed was her fairytale became
dangerous.

This month, we join communities across the country in celebrating Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and recognizes the enduring pursuit of freedom, justice, and opportunity for all.
Juneteenth is more than a historical milestone; it is a reminder of the importance of creating pathways to hope, stability, and self-determination for the young people and families we serve.
As we honor Juneteenth, we are especially grateful for supporters like you. Your generosity helps ensure that young people facing homelessness, exploitation, and poverty have access to safe housing, education, mentoring, and opportunities to thrive. Together, we are helping create a community where every young person can pursue their dreams with dignity and support.

Rise N' Shine Summer Camp Begins Next Week!
We are thrilled to share that our Rise N' Shine Summer Camp begins next week! Thanks to the generosity of supporters like you, we are excited to welcome a full roster of girls for a summer filled with fun, learning, friendship, and personal growth.
This year's theme, "Bloom Into You," will be woven throughout every activity and experience. Through creative projects, engaging workshops, team-building activities, and meaningful conversations, we will encourage each girl to embrace her unique strengths, discover her voice, and build confidence in who she is.
Every girl deserves a safe and supportive environment where she can grow, explore new opportunities, and thrive. This summer, our campers will be reminded that they do not have to be anyone else; they can simply bloom into the best version of themselves.

Lift the Block joined us to uplift, encourage, and connect with women in our community. Throughout the event, participants received hygiene kits, engaged in meaningful conversations, and enjoyed spending time together in a welcoming and supportive environment.
More than anything, we wanted every woman who attended to leave knowing her value and worth. Through simple acts of kindness and genuine connection, Lift the Block helped create a space where women felt seen, heard, and encouraged.
We are incredibly grateful to Lift the Block for partnering with us and investing their time, resources, and hearts into our community. Their generosity and compassion made a lasting impact, and we are thankful for the encouragement they shared with every woman they encountered.

Hour Detroit Best After-School Program Finalist
We are honored to have been named a finalist for Hour Detroit Magazine's Best After-School Program. While we did not receive the top award this year, being recognized among the region's leading youth-serving organizations is a meaningful achievement and a testament to the impact of our mission.
