OC Teacher of the Year!!

Last week, a big yellow bus filled with reporters, camera crews, and Orange County Department of Education officials stopped at Carrillo Elementary School for a special surprise. OCDE's Superintendent of Schools Dr. Al Mijares and his Prize Patrol named teacher Carlos Primiani as one of six 2018 Orange County Teachers of the Year. Carlos now advances to the state contest. He is well-deserving of this recognition and does so much for his students. Click here to read the OC Register article. Carrie Lankford from Fitz Intermediate School and Jenny Jurgemeyer from Hare High School are exceptional teachers and were also nominated by GGUSD for the honor!

School Nutrition Employees Week

Last week was School Nutrition Employee Week. We want to give a BIG shout out to our wonderful Food Services workers who go above and beyond to make sure our students are cared for and have healthy delicious meals at school. #GGUSDPRIDE

Best High Schools!

U.S. News and World Report named Bolsa Grande, La Quinta, Santiago, and Pacifica to the 2017 Best High Schools list. Our high schools continue to receive this national recognition year after year. Ranking criteria include a combination of college readiness indicators, graduation rates, state assessments, and other factors such as Advanced Placement test results. Congratulations to our high schools on this wonderful accomplishment!

Love of Language
Recently, Bryant Elementary School hosted its 2nd Annual Spanish Heritage Language Showcase to highlight its after school program which helps students on their journey to biliteracy. Our parents, students, and staff are so proud to be part of a district that values biliteracy

Tons of Talent
Enders Elementary School students exuded with artistic talent and self expression during the school's recent Talent Show. We love seeing our students shine on stage.
