Principal's Message

Dr. Ray and the current GSLT representatives welcome three new members to the team.
The holiday season is officially upon us and we look forward to all of the wonderful events and activities that December brings. 

Next week, Tuesday, December 4 through Thursday, December 6  marks the last on-site CORE and Learning Labs for the Fall Semester. Students will then transition into final exam mode. Parents, during the next few weeks, please encourage your students to continue working hard to  "Power their Potential" and finish the semester strong.

Grades 4-12: Final Exam Schedule

The Fall 2018 Final Exam Schedule is posted on the assessment page of the GOC website.

All full-time students should have received a final exam schedule to their GOC email address.  If any student has not received the email, please contact GOC's Testing Coordinator,  Ms. Torrens .

Please note that students are typically scheduled for more than one exam per day.  Students need to arrive at the scheduled time as outlined on the final exam schedule.
Grades 4-12: Retesting

As a reminder, retesting for course tests will take place on Monday, December 3.  Students must have completed an intervention with their teacher in order to participate in retesting.  

Please contact your subject teacher to find out more about this retesting opportunity.
Student vs. Staff Basketball Game

GOC is excited to host its 2nd annual Student vs. Staff Basketball game.  Please mark your calendar for Tuesday, March 5 at 1 p.m.

Grades 4-12: Shrek the Musical

Call back auditions for our Spring Musical will be held for students in grades 4-12 on Friday, November 30 from 9 a.m.-Noon. Call backs will include singing, dancing and acting.

Students who are selected for call backs will receive an email to their GOC account after the last audition on  Thursday, November 29. Please check your email frequently to see if you have been invited to call backs.

For those students (and their parents) selected for the Shrek Musical please plan to attend the following meeting:

We are excited to wrap up the semester with this fun-filled event which includes:

Students who wish to participate in the optional gift exchange should bring a generic (non-gender or non-age specific) wrapped gift valued at $5 as well as a $10 generic gift card.  Please, no food items are permitted as gifts due to various food allergies.

Grades 4-12: Mario Kart & Smash Brothers Tournament  

Student Leadership is excited to announce that they will be hosting a Mario Kart and Smash Brothers Tournament on
Friday, January 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Spectators are invited to attend at no cost but will not be permitted to compete.  Pizza and concessions will also be offered for sale the day of the event.

Grade 8: Lottery Registration Opens for The Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science & Technology

GSMST is a unique high school that focuses on advanced and challenging studies in the fields of engineering, biosciences, and emerging technologies. 

The lottery application process for the 2019-2020 school year is now open through Friday, January 25, 2019 for rising 9th grade students who are residents of the Gwinnett County school district attendance zone.

It is strongly recommended that interested students and parents attend an informational meeting. Students who are applying for a valid lottery number must meet all of the lottery requirements.  For complete details on the application process and scheduled information sessions please click HERE.
