Principal's Message

It is amazing how quickly this semester is going by. In just a few short weeks we will be entering into the holiday season.  We want to remind all students to continue working hard to "power their potential"  and finish the semester strong.

Students and parents, please be mindful of the important changes that have been communicated regarding the GOC calendar. Please reference the section below which highlights all of the calendar changes for the remainder of this semester.

We hope that everyone can join us next week for GOC's 6th annual Talent Show on Thursday, November 15 at 6 p.m. We are very excited to see what our students have in store for us as they showcase their special talents.  A special thank you to our students and staff who have worked so hard organizing this exciting evening.

Grades 4-12: Important Changes to the GOC Calendar

Upcoming campus schedule for December:
Normal CORE and Learning Labs will continue to take place on December 4, 5, & 6. These labs will focus on reviews and preparation for the upcoming final exams.
In the past, GOC finals were given a week prior to the end of the semester. This year, GOC students will be testing during the same dates as the brick and mortar schools. If a student does not complete an exam on the scheduled date, a 68 or the earned course grade if below 68 will be posted as the course grade until a makeup exam is taken.

Makeup exams will be scheduled after the holiday break on January 7 & 8.
Students should keep in mind that access to courses ends on December 20.

The testing window is as follows:
· Elementary grades will test on December 11, 12, & 13
· Middle and high school will test on December 14, 17, 18, & 19
· End of Course (EOC) exams will be scheduled to test in late November and the first two weeks of December. Students enrolled in courses with an EOC should make sure they are aware of the test date.

Students will receive an email with their individual testing schedules by Friday, November 16. If your student does not receive an email on or before that date, they should contact Ms. Torrens.
