What Is #GivingTuesday?

#GivingTuesday harnesses the potential of social media and the generosity of people around the world to bring about real change in their communities; it provides a platform for them to encourage the donation of time, resources and talents to address local challenges. It also brings together the collective power of a unique blend of partners— nonprofits, civic organizations, businesses and corporations, as well as families and individuals—to encourage and amplify small acts of kindness.

How Can I Help?
Your generosity will help us educate the public, media and policymakers on the importance of shared parenting that grants both parents equal rights, responsibilities, and parenting time - while also benefiting children.

Family Reunion is a national, non-profit organization that is dedicated to creating public awareness of the importance of shared parenting through our educational programs and videos, media and social networking campaigns, and our advocacy programs. We bring awareness to the issues often created by destructive family laws and policies and the current adversarial court system that often discounts one parent.

Our mission is to reunite families that have been separated due to divorce, separation or by destructive family laws and policies. We work with existing organizations, experts and individuals dedicated to making much-needed changes to the destructive family court system so that the children's best interests can be supported.
Family Reunion reaches out to decision-makers at the State and Federal levels, as well as, civil rights organizations to educate them on the social pathologies children can face due to the current laws and policies that often remove one parent from having an integral relationship with their children.
In The Media
Family Reunion is consistently in the media. We have written opinion pieces, and disseminated numerous press releases and weekly newsletters. We have made local and national appearances on television and radio shows; KGET Bakersfield, an NBC affiliate, 102.9 KBLX and 103.9 The Beat.
Internship Program
In 2014, Family Reunion implemented a successful internship program that offers many internship opportunities for energetic, talented and highly motivated university students and recent graduate students.
Family Reunion has partnered with California State University, Bakersfield and Santa Barbara Business College to give their students the opportunity to earn college credit for their internship hours.
Family Reunion Projects
The event, Dia De La Familia, sponsored by the Central Valley Farmworkers Foundation.
Annual Trunk-or-Treat hosted by the Bakersfield Police Department and Kern County Sheriff's Office.
Our documentary, A Case for Shared Parenting, is in its final stages of completion.
