Here's your chance to give back!

#GivingTuesday  is a day that is globally dedicated to giving back and empowering one another. On  Tuesday, November 29, 2016 #GivingTuesday encourages families, students, charities, organizations and businesses to reflect upon the organizations they value and support them with a donation.
Over the past 12 months, Keep Akron Beautiful proudly celebrated our 35th anniversary, while continuing to bring out the best of what Akron has to offer for a lasting, positive impact on our region. We serve your Akron community with a variety of agency programs and services geared towards promoting responsible environmental management and city beautification.

Keep Akron Beautiful moved closer to our goal of ending litter by removing 80,896 pounds of trash with our in-house crew and service workers.
During Clean Up Akron Month, volunteers collected 36,839 of trash, 570 pounds of recyclables and 148 tires from public property.
Our Flowerscape crews planted 34,042 plants this year throughout the 32 Flowerscape sites in Akron.
Volunteers planted 11,972 plants in the 64 Adopt-A-Site garden sites that extend beautification throughout Akron neighborhoods.
Keep Akron Beautiful mailed out Beautification Watch Awards to 4,261 unsuspecting Akron residents and 423 companies/institutions that are setting the bar for private property beautification in all 10 wards of the city.

These are just some of the many accomplishments Keep Akron Beautiful boasts, however programs like these are only successful through the generosity and commitment of businesses, employees, foundations, and residents-people like you-caring individuals from our proud city.

This Giving Tuesday, we ask for your pledge to make our community a beautiful and safe place to live, work, and play. There are many different ways to give:
Pledge to volunteer with Keep Akron Beautiful in 2017.
There are currently 10 volunteer events planned which offer a wide range of opportunities to get involved.  Assisting with fundraisers, participating in litter cleanups, beautifying our neighborhood, educating students in Akron on recycling and waste management, and helping to gather data on litter in the City are just some of the things you will find!

Make a donation
Every financial contribution goes a long way at Keep Akron Beautiful, even donations of $22. The average value of volunteer time is approximately $22.14 per hour. We proudly boast the work our volunteers do throughout the year, but as you can see volunteers also add significant financial value as well! A donation as little as $22 will help our agency bolster the programs our volunteers work so diligently for!

Give a gift that lasts a lifetime through our Endowment Fund
We recently started an agency endowment fund at Akron Community Foundation as a way to ensure a permanent, predictable stream of funding for our mission. The Keep Akron Beautiful Endowment Fund welcomes gifts of all kinds, including cash, bequests, closely held stock, real estate, life insurance and retirement assets.

We're looking forward to making 2017 even more successful. Can we count on your help?
