January 2023

Hello Nune,

As we enter the second week of a new year, we look ahead with hope and optimism toward the promise of this year and work to put the challenges and difficulties of the past few years behind us. We want to thank you, once again, for the support you showed Santa Maria in 2022, our 125th year of helping families help themselves.

Grateful. Amazed. Inspired. That’s how your generosity makes us feel. If you missed our end-of-year video, you may watch it on our YouTube channel here to see the true impact of your support.

One of the many opportunities offered at Santa Maria Community Services is our Workforce Experience program. This program partners with local businesses to provide our participants with on-the-job training, tangible job skills, and measurable certifications. Read the journey of one such program participant - Makiayla - below. She is the subject of our featured story in January.

We also look ahead as we are planning our Spring Health Fair. Mark your calendar for Saturday, April 15th. You can also read about our Parents on Point program below, which is starting a new cohort this month.

Wishing you a very Happy New Year!
