“Gratitude can transform common days

into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy,

and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.”

–William Arthur Ward

The fabulous Elkhorn Kiwanis ornaments have arrived! Eeeek!

And they are just as wonderful as all the previous years making this a wonderful addition to your Christmas tree and holiday decorations.

In just a few weeks we will see the hardworking City of Elkhorn crews string lights and add decorations to the downtown area. Mother Nature will eventually chime in and cover the green grass with a soft blanket of clean white snow. Fires will crackle and mugs will be filled with hot cocoa and a mountain of 'mallows. Together we will usher in the holiday season.

Yes the temperatures may fall, but the warmth that comes from this time of year is found within the hearts and the actions of all of us. To be honest these next few weeks will be very busy at the Elkhorn Chamber and the tasks can quickly overwhelm the feelings of thanksgiving. My hope for each of us is that we remain mindful of what November and December offer each of us. They offer us the opportunity to care, to connect and to honor the nature of gratitude.

Today I'm grateful for the Elkhorn Kiwanis and their commitment to roll out annual keepsakes that commemorate the Elkhorn Community. These time honored traditions keep old friends and new friends visiting our community to collect their 'this year's ornament'! I love hearing the stories and seeing the smiles when an ornament finds a new home. It's simple, but it's magic. And for that, I am grateful.
