Community Collaborations International

Environmental, Disaster Relief and Human Service Projects for Volunteer Teams

For over 20 years, CCI has been building relationships with local community partners and recruiting volunteer teams to support their efforts.

Guatemala Project

Our Guatemala Project focuses on working with small scale coffee producers and artisans to improve their quality of life

Since 2008, Community Collaborations International volunteers have been an important part of the continued improvements to the lives of the people of San Miguel Escobar, Guatemala.

We have partnered with local small scale coffee producers and local artisans to address issues and injustices within the coffee supply chain and to improve their quality of life.

Your volunteer team will have the opportunity to work with local direct-trade farmers, artisans, and local schools while also learning about the rich history of coffee farming and trade in Guatemala.

"You really get to know the coffee farmer by following them up to his coffee fields on the sides of Agua Volcano and then into his home, seeing and taking part in how coffee makes it from the ground to the cup. Roasting, grinding, boiling and tasting the best coffee I have ever had and I loved getting to see what real life in Guatemala is like." - Rutgers University Volunteer

“Words cannot describe all that we have learned and experienced this past week and the friendships we have made and will always cherish. As much as we love it here and want to continue helping this country and its people, we cannot wait to come home and share all that we have observed and learned with everyone. This has really been a life-changing experience one we wish to continue as we go on with our lives.” Michelle Brahen, CCI Guatemala Volunteer, Keene State University

Puerto Rico Projects

“Safe and comfortable housing is essential for the well-being of our older adults. With the challenges Puerto Rico has faced in recent years, many elderly individuals find themselves living in inadequate conditions." says Carmen S. Morales, Director of the Puerto Rico Office for the Elderly Affairs

CCI Puerto Rico projects include housing rehabilitation projects, environmental restoration, and work with local youth.

Florida Hurricane Idalia and Ian Relief

Community Collaborations International is currently assessing damages caused by Hurricane Idalia as well as continuing work on Hurricane Ian recovery projects. We will begin deploying volunteer teams after Thanksgiving and will continue to be there through the end of May.

Our top priority is providing direct relief to individuals and families who have been displaced by the storm. We also provide support to local community organizations such as food banks, free clothing outlets, and community based organizations struggling to meet the increased needs of families and elderly impacted by the storm.
