July 26, 2019
Summer remains in full swing in the northern hemisphere and, as always, it's HOT inside The Pit!
July's "Great Giveaway" Winner!
July's "Great Giveaway" Sweepstakes winner was Member Jim Doyle , better known in real life as, get this, Jim Doyle.

Jim was blown away when he got the message, "I can't believe it! This is amazing!" he said. We're not sure if the "amazing" was a pun intended, but we'll assume so.

Jim chose the Slow 'N Sear Deluxe Kamado, MSRP $1,499. "A kamado built around [the Slow 'N Sear] looks to be a sure winner", he said.

And he would be correct! The "SnSK" has been awarded not only the esteemed Platinum Medal after a hands-on thorough testing by Max Good, but also a Best New Products of 2019 award!

Prize delivery took only about a week after he claimed his prize. Jim received his SnSK on Wednesday, July 24th! "I can't thank Amazing Ribs enough for this fantastic prize!" he said.
Jim, and each monthly winner, also gets:

Every paid USA member gets automatic entry each month that their membership is current, there's nothing else you need to do. Whether you joined yesterday or have been with us since our first year in 2014, your name is in the hat!
Jim was our 2nd winner this month, since the first didn't get our message or respond within 5 days. Don't let that happen to you! The winner has 5 days from when we notify him or her, and once that time's up we draw another name and the previous winner forfeits, and this is non-reversible. In February we had to draw 3 names since the first two winners didn't respond to us! Make sure the email address in your account settings is one you use regularly, and make sure you have us (@amazingribs.com) whitelisted or added as a contact. And when you get an email from us, OPEN IT!
Happy 5 Years! 2014 - 2019
This month marks a milestone for us; the Pitmaster Club's 5 Year Anniversary!

You may remember last month's announcement that we're paying tribute to not only our first-year members who are titled Charter Member, but also our first-month members with the new title Founding Member.

If you are a Founding Member or Charter Member, or heck, even if you just joined yesterday and you're reading your newsletter here for the first time, THANK YOU from all of us here at AmazingRibs.com and the Pitmaster Club! Without you and your support we would not be here with the same level of quality reviews, mythbusting and friendship that you've come to love.

Here's to 5 more years and beyond!
New Forum User Manual
If you're a new member, or are new to forums in general, it can be difficult to find your way around in a forum or online bulletin board. Forums are way different than a regular "static" website full of articles and pictures. Forums are interactive for you, the reader, and your fellow members, they contain many channels or subjects, and you can post new topics in those channels, reply to existing topics, share picture, videos, links; the list goes on and on.

We've been working hard to develop an intuitive Help! section, FAQs, and User Manual for those times when you just can't figure out how to accomplish something. While many of these "how-to" and tutorial topics have been here a while, we've been able to arrange them into a much more streamlined collection. We hope you're able to get the answers to what you seek! If you still cannot find what you need with regard to forum function or your membership details, you can always post a call for help and someone will come running.
"Hits From The Pit" Member Recipe Program

Green Meanie Soup, from member grantgallagher.
"A fun, clever way to get your kids to not only eat their vegetables but to help cook them! Green Meanie soup is good for the whole family and simple to make. The recipe is also flexible enough to include your favorite proteins like shredded chicken or bacon. To take it a step further, try smoking the cauliflower first. Either way, Green Meanie is a fun, easy recipe to make with your family."
For past recipes from the likes of Henrik, Attjack, theroc, Ernest, Mosca, lonnie mac, and RonB that were selected, prepared, and posted to the pages of AmazingRibs.com, see the "Hits From The Pit"- Member Recipe Program sub-channel.

Stay tuned for more!

Show Us What You're Cooking!
And everyone's favorite- the food! Here's a collection of the past month's highlights from members just like you in our "Show Us What You're Cooking (SUWYC) - Volume 14, Summer 2019" topic!
What better way to kick this month off then with a great shot by Mudkat. Check out that ribeye blazing over a cherry wood fire!
hoovarmin may have combined two of the finest delicacies you can throw on the grill with this cook. How about some prosciutto-wrapped scallops with rosemary skewers? These babies were seared directly over the fire and the results look spectacular!
Mike'sBBQLounge had the neighbors over some some killer Paella. This was done on his Kamado. What a night this must have been!
SavageSmoke put together some amazing cooks. Smoked salmon, chicken, brisket and ribs! I would say that he had the bases covered, WOW!
rgriffeath whipped up some baby back for the Fourth of July this year! Check out that mid-evil action shot! Great presentation as well!
JoeSousa had his Ranch Weber loaded up with some pork butts. That grill is a beast and it looks as though those pork butts did not stand a chance! Barka licious!
I had to throw one of my own cooks in this month. However, this is more of an ode to Pork Belly Burnt Ends! Man are they goooood! These were cooked on my Big Green Egg.
Richard Chrz was back at it this month with some wonderful flank steak with some fresh chimichurri, made fresh from his herb garden!
It was "thigh time" over at Polarbear777's house and it did not disappoint. Look at that color. Looks like pure yard bird bliss!
Elton's BBQ had a party going on in his gasser this month! I think he had the whole brood in there!
troymeister also had the griddle going this month. It was his Mother's 75th birthday. He cooked up some shrimp, asparagus, corn, potatoes and topped with cilantro. Served with fresh corn tortillas. Happy birthday to Momma troymiester!
Attack is always willing to impress and he may have outdone himself on this one. Check out these g rilled lamb loin chops, bruschetta with tomato jam and fresh sage, watermelon salad with feta and basil. Served with a Malbec. Stunning!
How about some nachos from the Pit Boss? Huskee threw on some pulled beef, Monterrey Jack and medium cheddar. This was then melted down on his new pellet cooker, then he added sour cream, tomatoes and homemade guac! Gimmie some of that!
Why not end this month's highlights with a stunning cook from our friend Ernest.....I will let the pictures do most of the talking here, but look at those KBQ beef ribs! Outstanding, my friend!
Your assignment- sharpen up your photography skills & make it hard on us to pick which pics make the cut next month.

Everyone did a great job this month! Y'all made my job easy! :) Keep the Smoke Rollin'!
