March Bloomin' 4 Good

The Sheffield Food Assistance Program is the beneficiary of Stop & Shop's Bloomin’ 4 Good program for the month of March!

Sheffield Food Assistance will receive a $1 donation for every specially marked $11.99 Bloomin’ 4 Good bouquet sold during all of March at the Stop & Shop at 11 East Main Street in Canaan, CT.

Beer and Hymns

Old Parish and Christ Trinity will hold our final Beer and Hymns at Big Elm on Friday, March 6 from 6-8pm before the brewery closes in April.

Let's all give a big cheer to Big Elm for all of their support over the years!

Shepherds' pie and Irish soda bread will be provided as well as non-alcoholic beverages. Big Elm beer will be available for purchase. A free-will offering will support the Sheffield AT ministry. Join us to celebrate an early St. Patty's Day!

Spring Forward

Don't oversleep! This Sunday, March 8 is the start of Daylight Saving Time.

Remember to Spring Forward: Set your clocks one hour ahead before you go to bed Saturday night!

Council Commissioning

This Sunday during worship we will hold the annual Commissioning of the Church Council.

The congregation is abundantly grateful for their leadership, commitment and faithfulness to the ministries we share.

To them we offer our own availability, prayers, encouragement and support: Cara Davis, Moderator; Alicia Brazie, Treasurer; Caitlin Hotaling, Clerk; Julie Hannum, Financial Secretary and Property Management; Mike Scott, Financial Management; Sandra Alden, Deacons; Chris Lee, Missions and Social Action.

Let us be reminded that they are not the church alone. We are the Church together. Talk to them and see how you can participate in serving God’s people.

Peace Corps Program

March 15

You may remember the last update about Sydney Ruggiero's work in Botswana through the Peace Corps.

She was working on a project to create a safe, youth-friendly space within a local clinic to support adolescents living with HIV. The opening of the space which will serve as a hub for treatment, testing, health talks, peer support groups, and access to reproductive health services was announced last November.

On March 15, join us in the Social Room following worship, where Sydney will share her reflections on the project now that her work with the Peace Corps is complete.

How exciting it is to hear about Sydney's adventure and good work with the people of Botswana through the Peace Corps.

A signup sheet will be available to RSVP and volunteer to bring a contribution toward the light refreshments for our gathering.

Steeple Lighting

The Steeple is lighted for the month of March by Laura Bartholomew in loving memory of the Bartholomew family: Dana, Beth and Pamela Bartholomew Armstrong.

Future Steeple Lighting Sponsorships are available beginning in April.

It is a lovely way to honor a friend, an occasion, a memory or loved one.

Thank you for your generosity in giving toward the ministries of this church. Love flows because of you!
