Happenings - March 11, 2025

Council Commissioning

The annual Commissioning of the Church Council is scheduled for this Sunday, March 16 during worship.

As a congregation, we are blessed by the array of gifts and skills shared by those elected to serve. This Sunday we are all encouraged to be present either in person or via Zoom as the 2025 Church Council is commissioned and all who call Old Parish home join them in covenanting to Be the Church for the days ahead.

Remember, We are the Church Together.

Sheffield Historical Society:

Reading Frederick Douglass

Beginning on Monday, March 17 and continuing on Wednesday and Friday, Old Parish will welcome the Sheffield Historical Society as their rescheduled 8th grade program, 'Reading Frederick Douglass' takes place in our facility.

Breakfast Church

Looking ahead to Sunday, March 30 when we will gather at 9am for our Fifth Sunday Breakfast Church.

We'll celebrate spring and the joy of community as we share a morning meal and meaningful conversation.

Easter Egg Hunt

Easter is coming and plans for the Easter Egg Hunt are underway. Donations of individually wrapped small candy, stickers, etc. to be tucked into plastic eggs are now being received.

Donations can be left in a box in the church office on Sundays.

March Steeple Lighting

The Steeple is lighted for the month of March by Diana, Chris and Thomas Williams. "Sending warmth and light to our Sheffield family and friends."

We need an April Sponsor! Perhaps it's you!

Sponsorships for the rest of the year are also open and waiting for you! To claim a month, please email the church office with your request. It is a lovely way to honor a friend, an occasion, a memory or loved one.

You are the Light

of the World!

The love we bring to the world through monetary gifts and our personal involvement serve to communicate a different message than many are hearing in the world today.

Gathering on Sunday for worship not only feeds the spirits of those who gather, but the financial gifts shared then flow out into the world as acts of love.

Together we communicate a message of welcome, inclusion and kindness.

You may also support our love in the world by using the donate button on our website! Or, mail your gifts to:
