Pentecost
This Sunday, June 8th is Pentecost Sunday, a day to celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit in powerful, life-transforming ways. It will also be Chelsea Beatty's first Sunday and our monthly celebration of Holy Communion. Wow! What a full and blessed hour of worship. Who knows how the Spirit may rise up among us :)
You are invited to wear bright colors such as bright yellow, red or orange as a sign of the fire of the Holy Spirit!

Appalachian Trail Tent
Our 2025 Appalachian Trail ministry opens next Monday, June 16th and continues through Saturday, August 9th. Monday, Wednesday, Friday host days are reserved for our local church folks - like you! If you haven't volunteered before and would like to, a Google sheet is available with all the possible dates to sign up. Invite a community friend to join you! Contact Pastor Jill for help navigating the process, or for more information about volunteering.
Sharing a little kindness, just because, is a fabulous way to act a tad like Jesus!

A Message from Manon:
Upcoming Concerts
Dear all,
I wanted to let you know about a couple of concerts I have coming up this month. These are all part of Music at the Southfield Church, a series that I help advise. This coming Saturday at 7pm, I’m presenting a recital of really colorful and intriguing songs with soprano Claire Galloway. Claire teaches at the Peabody Institute in Baltimore as well as at Bard, and we were students together at Bard (this is alarming) 20 years ago. We’re performing songs by Berg, Sibelius, and Poulenc among others. This is a program for the slightly more adventurous concertgoer; I’m talking about surrealist texts, songs in Finno-Swedish, and plenty of extremely flavorful harmonies!
On June 21st at 2pm I’m performing with my dear friend violist Eva Gerard in a concert for families and children. We’re presenting works by Beethoven, Schubert, Saint-Saens, and Bach. Kids will get an introduction to the viola and classical music generally, and there will be zero expectations about anyone sitting still and remaining quiet for the duration.
Finally, on June 28th at 7pm I’m performing two piano quartets with other local musicians. I’ll be joined by cellist Julian Müller (SR cello faculty!), violinist Mitsuko Suzuki (of the Albany Symphony), and violist Bram Fisher. We’re playing quartets in G minor by Mozart and Brahms. The last movement of the Brahms is a real show-stopper.
All concerts are free and open to the public and all are held at the Southfield Church, 234 Norfolk Rd in Southfield, MA.
