Why Your Support Matters

How your financial support fuels podcasts, documentaries, education, and hope for families facing prostate cancer.

From The Desk of Reggie Hicks

Happy Holidays,

This season finds me especially grateful.

Earlier this year, I faced a prostate cancer re-diagnosis and underwent proton radiation therapy. Thanks to faith, family, and extraordinary medical advances, I am blessed to be here—healthy, hopeful, and able to experience moments like holding my first grandchild, Ava Marie. (The beauty, of course, is all hers.)

This journey has been one of reflection and resolve. As I celebrate another holiday season, I also hold close the memory of brothers we have lost to prostate cancer—and those currently in hospice, still fighting. Their stories remind us why our mission matters.

Because of your prayers, generosity, and continued support, If You Are My Brothers remains committed to turning health awareness into health action.

As we close out the year, we are in the final weeks of our year-end campaign, strengthened by a $6,500 challenge grant from three generous donors. Here’s how it works:

If we raise $6,500 by December 31, the full grant is unlocked—doubling the impact of every gift.

I understand how busy, costly, and overwhelming the year-end season can be. Yet it is also a time for purpose, generosity, and hope. I am deeply grateful for whatever you are able to give as we move boldly into 2026.

Thank you for standing with us, and to those who supported this effort in 2025. Merry Christmas and have a Blessed New Year!

With Gratitude,

Reggie

Looking Ahead: Our Vision for 2026

We have an ambitious and necessary year planned.

As access to affordable healthcare becomes increasingly uncertain, nonprofit organizations like ours must step forward with urgency and intention. Our focus remains clear: engage our community and move people from awareness to action—because prevention saves lives.

With your partnership, here’s what we plan to accomplish in 2026:

  • Complete the next phase of our prostate cancer documentary
  • Participate in 8–12 community health fairs and wellness events
  • Convene a Virtual Prostate Cancer Health Action Summit
  • Produce 24+ episodes of the If You Are My Brothers Podcast
  • Launch the If You Are My Brothers Prostate Cancer Advisory Board
  • Expand multimedia outreach during Prostate Cancer Awareness Month (September)
  • Raise 50% of the endowment goal for the Ralph Franklin Prostate Cancer Research Fund at the Clark Atlanta University Center for Cancer Research and Therapeutic Development (CCRTD)
  • Continue our paid summer internship program for emerging storytellers and advocates

Together, these efforts move us closer to a healthcare system rooted in equity, education, and early action.

This year, nearly 300,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer.
