The Spirit is Alive at St. Andrew's
We had a wonderful turnout for our Pentecost Party. Thank you to all who came to celebrate the spirit among us. We hope you met new friends and reconnected with old friends.
It was a hot day, but the oak tree provided ample shade, and Pinky the ice cream truck was there with an abundance of cool treats. The music reminded us that we are a people of faithful improvisation.

Return to In-Person Worship and Gatherings in June
In light of rising vaccination availability and rates and decreasing COVID infections, we will return to indoor Sunday morning worship at 10:00 a.m. in the sanctuary for the summer, beginning on June 6. We will also welcome parishioner small groups back on campus in limited numbers. The bishops are working with diocesan leaders now to establish new guidelines for gathering in light of the most recent CDC announcements. We will include information on what to expect in worship in our June 2 eNews. We look forward to worshipping together face to face again.

Mark your calendars. Our next Abundant Life date is Tuesday June 8.
Watch for details on our website and in next week's eNews.

Abundant Life Help Needed
Our Abundant Life team at St. Andrew's is looking for an occasional helper on the Monday morning food collection route.
Each week, Barbara Cooke makes the rounds, collecting food at local establishments before delivering it to Abundant LIfe. The helper would cover this route on 3-4 Mondays per year.
The shift runs from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and includes Bestway Grocery in Lindley Park, Cheesecakes by Alex on S. Elm St., the IRC on Washington St., and Abundant Life at 3910 Yanceyville St. Some heavy lifting is involved.
If you are able-bodied, interested, and have a vehicle you would be happy to use for this mission, please contact Barbara at 336-521-0040 or bjcooke58@gmail.com. She will schedule a Monday ride-a-long training session with you. And for all those who receive boxes of food each week, you will be a blessing.

There may be tax advantages when making a donation to the church. Such gifts may be made through a financial account such as a qualified charitable distribution or a direct stock donation where you are not exposed to the tax implications from the application of the stock price.
When these contributions are made, the church requests you specify with your financial institution on the memo line that you by name are making the contribution when you plan to have the funds directly deposited into the church's financial account from your financial account. This is better known as an ACH transaction where there is no human interaction with the funds and there is not even a check that is involved in the transaction. If you do not specify on the memo line in the ACH transaction that you are making this gift, the church has no way of learning who has given the funds.
Please review your next quarterly giving statement carefully, and contact Ray Marsh at bookkeeper@standrewsgso.org if you have given a gift that is not reflected on your statement. Ray is in the office on Wednesdays beginning at 1:00 p.m.
