Glory Ridge Ingathering on June 27:
Help Us Reach our Goal of $1000
Our youth will return to Glory Ridge in August, for a week of fun and fellowship, spiritual renewal, and hard work, as they help neighbors in Madison County with urgent home repair needs. This is a time of transformation and connection as our youth grow closer to God, one another, and our North Carolina neighbors. It is such an important event in the life of our community that we did “Glory Ridge in Greensboro” last summer, building a wheelchair ramp and helping parishioners with yard maintenance.

Since our youth were unable to hold their annual fundraisers due to COVID, we are having a “Glory Ridge Ingathering” this Sunday to support this year’s group. We have set a target of $1000 to raise in our ingathering. Thank you for giving generously, either online or in person. Please note that there is a brand new dropdown option for this in the Abundant Giving online form and app. Look for the fund called “EYC Glory Ridge.”
Worship Online on July 4th
On Sunday, July 4th, we invite St. Andrew’s to worship with the Washington National Cathedral online at 11:15 a.m. Information about worship can be found at https://cathedral.org/worship-2/. You can view the service at https://www.youtube.com/user/wncathedral, or join the service live with the Cathedral Facebook community at 11:15 a.m. at https://www.facebook.com/WNCathedral/. St. Andrew’s will not hold in-person worship on Sunday July 4.
Blessing of Altar and Liturgical Vestments
This past Sunday, June 20, our beautiful new altar and liturgical vestments for this green season of Ordinary Time were blessed. They were designed especially for St. Andrew's and generously given by the Obimma family. We are grateful to the Obimma family and look forward to the ways they will enhance our worship together and give glory to God.
Bring a Bag and Take a Bag
The Outreach Committee has resumed regular collection of canned goods and nonperishable food items at St. Andrew’s, and weekly distribution to One Step Further Food Pantry, our partner agency. Thank you for remembering to "Bring a Bag and Take a Bag" each week. Burgundy grocery bags are in the narthex and outside the chapel. Full bags can be brought to worship or to the church during parish office hours on Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please contact Doug Sanecki at dpsanecki@gmail.com to coordinate if you need to make other arrangements.

Funeral for Dan Seaman
You’re invited to join us to celebrate the life of Dan Seaman on July 31st at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary.

Ushers Needed as we Regather
Our Usher ministry is a vital part of the worship service and our ministry of hospitality. Its purpose is to ensure that all visitors and parishioners feel welcome at St. Andrew’s. Ushers are the first face of our church. Ushers work together as a team, rotating throughout the year, usually serving on the same Sunday each month. Usher duties include greeting churchgoers as they arrive, helping to orient guests and newcomers to our church, assisting with seating, recording service attendance, and answering questions. Arriving early for services, ushers help prepare the entry area of the church for services, collect and present the offering during the service, and assist people to and from their chairs during communion. We would like to invite anyone interested in this ministry to join us, including families and youth. Ushering is a wonderful way to introduce children to the service of hospitality and to teach them to look out for and be concerned for others. For additional information or a willingness to serve in this capacity, please contact Rob Moore at robmarcia@bellsouth.net or 332-209-9848.
Resources for Worship at Home
If you would like to borrow a copy of the Book of Common Prayer or the hymnal to use during Sunday worship at home, please stop by the office during Tuesday office hours, 10-2. If you need these books to be delivered to you, please contact Susan by email at parish@standrewsgso.org
COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic
First Moravian church, in cooperation with Cone Health, is hosting a COVID-19 vaccine clinic. The dates are Saturdays July 3rd & July 31st, 8 a.m.—12 p.m. at First Moravian Church, 304 S. Elam Ave., Greensboro. An appointment is not required; however, you do need to register in advance, which you can do by calling 336-482-7681.
Thank you for Supporting St. Andrew's
Your financial support of our mission is vital. We need and appreciate your ongoing generosity. If you have a question about your gifts, please contact our bookkeeper, Ray Marsh, at his Gmail address, bookkeeperstagso@gmail.com, or leave a voicemail message for him at the church number, 336-275-1651, extension 3. Ray is in the office on Wednesday afternoons. You may give a new gift or continue your pledge at this link.
Tax Considerations with Charitable Gifts
There may be tax advantages when making a gift to the church through a financial account, such as a qualified charitable distribution, or a direct stock donation, where you are not exposed to the tax implications from the application of the stock price.

When these contributions are made, the church requests you specify with your financial institution on the memo line that you by name are making the contribution when you plan to have the funds directly deposited into the church's financial account from your financial account. This is better known as an ACH transaction where there is no human interaction with the funds and there is not even a check involved in the transaction. If you do not specify on the memo line in the ACH transaction that you are making this gift, the church has no way of learning who has given the funds. Please review your next giving statement carefully, and contact Ray Marsh if you have given a gift that is not reflected on your statement. Ray is in the office Wednesdays beginning at 1:00 p.m. If emailing, please use the Gmail address for Ray, bookkeeperstagso@gmail.com
