A Prayer for our Graduates

In this season of letting go and holding on,
remember the love of God.
The God who formed you and counts the hairs on your head,
the God who dwells in you,
the God who calls you beloved.
In this season of letting go and holding on,
remember the radical compassion of Jesus.
Jesus, who loves you as you are,
who knows your joys and your fears,
who is always calling you to new life.

In this season of letting go and holding on,
remember the presence of the Spirit,
The Spirit, who infuses your days with hope,
who gives you strength and support,
who knits us together with breath.

In these days of great change,
remember you are not alone.
Whatever lies ahead, we go with you.
A community praying for your growth and well-being,
A church that tends the Christ light in your name.

Go forth with God,
Remembering that you are loved.
Amen.

Hearing the Gospel Upcoming Schedule
With the end of our spring schedule on Thursday May 20, we will be changing our meeting dates. We plan to move our meetings to every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. beginning May 26. Starting out, we will continue to use Zoom as our meeting vehicle. The program number (591 492 036) and passcode (802839), as well as the dial in line (1-929-205-6099), will not change.
Hearing the Gospel is a weekly group study of the Gospel reading for the coming Sunday, emphasizing what it meant in Jesus' time and how we apply it today. All members of the parish and friends are welcome to join us. No preparation is required.
Men of St. Andrew's: We need your help

Calling all Rising 6th and 7th graders!

We are working to update our church records and want to extend personal EYC invitations to all our youth who will be eligible to join the EYC. If your child is a rising 6th or 7th grader, please contact Susan Frye at [email protected].

Youth Confirmation is Coming

The rite of Confirmation is an affirmation of one’s faith and a claiming of baptism. Preparation for youth confirmation allows teens to deepen their discipleship, to ask hard questions, to wrestle with their faith and to explore their own lives in Christ in a safe space. It offers the church an opportunity to support adolescents in their faith journeys.

Young people are traditionally confirmed when they are in the 8th grade or older. If you are interested in confirmation in fall 2021/spring 2022, please email Rev. Ginny Inman at [email protected].
Glory Ridge is Aug. 8-13 (Sunday - Friday)

If your youth is interested in attending and/or if you would like more information about this mission trip, please reach out to Rachael Revell at 276-224-0118 or

What is Glory Ridge, you ask? Glory Ridge is a multi-denominational Christian camp in North Carolina, founded in 1973. The camp is located in Madison County on 26 acres overlooking the French Broad River. Youth, chaperones, and college-age youth advisors participate in work projects around the community during the day and enjoy dinner, fellowship, and games in the evening. A Prayer for Social Justice

Almighty God, who created us in your own image: Grant us grace fearlessly to contend against evil and to make no peace with oppression; and, that we may reverently use our freedom, help us to employ it in the maintenance of justice in our communities and among the nations, to the glory of your holy Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen
