All Saints Celebration on Sunday, Nov. 7

We will celebrate All Saints this Sunday, November 7, at 10 a.m. with special music, prayers, and a baptism. We will also bless all our stewardship pledges for 2022, acknowledging our ongoing life together.

After the service, join us on the front lawn for St. Andrew’s All Saints Festival. We will have an assortment of yummy food and treats (chicken nuggets, brownies, fruit...), and games and crafts for children of all ages. Dress for the cool fall weather and stick around for some fun and fellowship.

All youth are invited to meet at 10 a.m. in the Parish Hall to help set up for the Festival!

The Faithful Departed

In our All Saints' service, we will be remembering the faithful departed whom we have lost over the last year. If you will be remembering someone on this All Saints' Sunday, you are invited to email their name to Rev. Ginny at ginny@standrewsgso.org, by Friday, with the subject line "All Saints." A list of names has also been kept in the office.

Join Us In-Person and Online, Sunday at 10

All are invited to worship each Sunday at 10 a.m. Masks are required for all in attendance, and we continue to offer our worship online with a livestream of Sunday’s service.
Set Your Clocks Back for Sunday
Together for Joy: Stewardship Pledges Will Be Blessed this Sunday, November 7

This week we continue to celebrate God’s wonderful gifts to us as we take time with God, in prayer, to consider how we can give of our own time, talent, and treasure with joy. If you need a pledge packet, please contact the office to request one. You may also make your pledge online. We ask that you prayerfully consider making your pledge and returning it by this Sunday, November 7, when we will celebrate All Saints and all pledges will be blessed.
Where We Are: Current Financial Snapshot

As we near the end of one year and begin planning for the next, it is time to take stock of our current finances. We are two months away from closing out the year and current statements were sent out mid-October. Your gifts make our ministry possible and we are grateful for your generosity. We are currently $35,860 ahead of budgeted total revenue, but we still have approximately $60,000 of budgeted pledge 2021 revenue that has not yet been collected. If our parish fulfills this critical commitment, we are positioned to exceed total revenues. Expenses also have been below our budgeted plan for the year by $24,445, due to the limited use of our church campus, even though our building maintenance costs have exceeded the budget for the year. The vestry and PODS are currently working on building the 2022 budget and we will have a better understanding of what programs can be expanded after the pledge campaign is completed and the final numbers are in for the year. There is a possibility that for the first time in over 10 years a favorable revenue to expense report for the entire year will be reported, if we are able to meet our pledged revenue commitment for the year. If your finances have changed or you have questions, please contact me or our bookkeeper, Ray Marsh, who is in the office on Wednesday afternoons, at bookkeeper@standrewsgso.org.
Place Your Stew Orders by November 5th!

Brunswick stew will soon be simmering, and you have the opportunity to be fed and feed your neighbor. For every quart of stew sold, the proceeds will be donated to the Greens and Green (SNAP) program at the Corner Farmers Market—and will be matched by an anonymous donor. Order your stew by Friday, November 5th, by emailing Sandy Shelton at sheltonsandy9496@gmail.com. The price is $10.00/quart. Delivery is Saturday Nov. 13th, 2-4 p.m., and after church Sunday Nov. 14th.
It's Time to Make Dinner for Abundant Life Tuesday, Nov. 9th

Our next date to prepare food for Abundant Life is Nov. 9. St. Andrew’s provides food for this ministry on the second Tuesday of every month. If you would like to contribute to the food donations, please contact the Rev. Barbara Cooke at bjcooke58@gmail.com to coordinate.
Episcopal Church Women, St. Anne's Chapter

The St. Anne’s chapter of ECW will meet Wednesday, Nov. 10, at 10:00 a.m. in the library. This will be a business meeting since we were unable to meet in October.
Swing by Our Playground!

Congratulations and thank you to Nate Taylor for his work in our playground and toward his Eagle Scout Award. Be sure to come try out our sturdy new swing set. The two traditional swing seats are now a little lower to the ground, so small kids can use them. Nate and his crew also installed a Skyzone platform swing. Younger children too small to use the regular swings can get on it with an adult (it has a 400+ – pound capacity), and kids with some physical disabilities will also find it easier to access. The Andy’s Playground sign is out for repairs but will be back in the coming weeks.
Join Us for a Newcomer Gathering, November 14th

New to the Parish? Just visiting and want to learn more? Invite, Welcome, and Connect invites you to join us for an informal gathering on Sunday, November 14, in the Parish Hall following the 10 a.m. service. Learn about upcoming events, have an opportunity to hear more about the life of St. Andrew's, and share in the fellowship we have missed these past months. Refreshments will be served and all COVID protocols will be observed. For more information and to RSVP, please contact Lynda Sanecki at lsanecki894@gmail.com.
Deacon Maggie Departing

The Rev. Maggie Silton has resigned from St. Andrew's. Please keep deacon Maggie and her family in your prayers. We wish her all the best and know her gifts will continue to bless our diocese.
St. Andrew's Prepares for Afghan Refugees

St. Andrew’s is joining with St. Francis Episcopal Church and with Church World Services to support an Afghan family in their upcoming resettlement process in Greensboro. The Mission and Outreach Committee has an initial budget of $5,000 to support at least one family’s housing needs for 5-6 months. Additionally, each St. Andrew’s interest group (choir, youth, vestry, etc.) will help by adopting a particular form of support for the family, such as household items or food. There will be other ways to help that involve some advance training, such as transportation assistance and educational outreach. If you would like to help in any of these ways or have questions, please contact Doug Sanecki at dpsanecki@gmail.com

Help Us Spread the Good Word

Social media is a great way to let your neighbors, friends and family know of the many activities coming up at St. Andrew's. If you are on Next Door, Facebook, Instagram, or any group or organization where you are comfortable posting about our events, we need your help. Please contact Betty Atwell at blmatwell@aol.com to be placed on our events distribution list. As events grow closer, the event notice will be emailed to you so that you may post it to let others know of the good things happening. We promise not to bombard you with too many notices but keep the information flowing in a timely manner.
