Join Us for Worship
This Sunday at 10,
In-Person and Online

Everyone is welcome. Masks are required for all in attendance, and we continue to offer our worship online with a livestream of Sunday’s service.

This Sunday we will have a blessing of the prayer shawls made by St. Andrew's Prayer Shawl Ministry. The shawls will then be ready to be distributed as needed, providing comfort to those who have suffered a loss or other hardship.
EYC Kick-Off is This Sunday

The EYC (Episcopal Youth Fellowship) Fall Kick-Off is this Sunday, September 26th. If you are in middle school or high school, we hope you will join us from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. for a fun night of food, games, and fellowship. Dinner will be served from Chipotle–an EYC fan favorite. This is a great chance to see old friends and make new friends.

Parents, please join us at 6:30 for an overview of the year ahead. We have planned opportunities for play, service, and spiritual formation. Come connect with other parents and learn about how to become an acolyte, our annual Glory Ridge trip, and confirmation. There is much to look forward to this fall!
Sermon Series "Be Doers of the Word" Continues

The opening chapter of James encourages us to “be doers of the word, and not hearers only.” What does faith look like in action? Join us for a Sunday sermon series on the Epistle of James, which focuses on practical spirituality, as we explore how to put our faith to work in community.
Need a Hymnal or Prayer Book?

If you would like to borrow a copy of the Book of Common Prayer or the hymnal to use during Sunday worship at home, please let us know. We will be happy to deliver books to you, or to have one ready for you at church to pick up. Please contact Susan at parish@standrewsgso.org or by phone.
Please Make Your Nursery Requests

Nursery is available each Sunday by request. Please send your request, by Tuesday for the coming Sunday, to Susan in the parish office, at parish@standrewsgso.org or 336-275-1651, ext. 1.
Pets Welcome Next Sunday at 3

Our second Celebration Sunday of the fall is October 3. We will honor creation care in our 10 a.m. worship, and at 3:00 p.m. that afternoon, the InviteWelcomeConnect team invites you to our annual Blessing of the Animals. Join us as we share God's love with the pets that have loved us through these many months of COVID. We will walk our pets from the Kensington St. parking lot, down the church's sidewalk, and finally to the front lawn, where Rev. Ginny will offer a prayer for the occasion and then individually bless our pets. Masks are required and we will maintain social distance. To keep the event peaceful, all pets must be leashed or in a carrier. So, bring your four-legged companions in honor of St. Francis, so they can be blessed as they are a blessing to us. For more information, please contact Pat Stultz at 336-257-8420 or patnjoes@gmail.com.
Prayer Shawl Ministry Resumes, Newcomers Welcome

The next Prayer Shawl Ministry meeting is Wednesday September 29th at 2 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Masks are required. We have yarn, needles, and people willing to teach, so if you have ever been interested in joining our ministry, September 29th (and every other Wednesday thereafter) is a great time to start! If you would like to join us for lunch beforehand, please meet in the Chapel side parking lot at noon. And if you are interested in an evening groupor have any questionsplease contact Lynda Sanecki at lsanecki894@gmail.com.
Fall Formation at St. Andrew’s

Throughout the summer, St. Andrew’s was hard at work planning fall ministry activities. The surge in COVID cases caused us to reevaluate how to start these parish activities safely, but there are many ways for you to connect for the first time or reconnect at St. Andrew's.

  • We have altered our Sunday morning children’s ministry so we can gather outside. EYC for our youth begins this Sunday.

  • We have added Celebration Sundays. On these special days in our liturgical calendar, we will celebrate our life together in God by focusing on intergenerational worship and service.

  • Our adult formation offerings are grounded in small groups, and we have a number of ways you can grow in faith this fall. Please see our mid-week offerings here.

Look for additional ways to engage as disciples of Christ in feeding the hungry, welcoming the stranger, and being transformed by God in the weeks to come. Walk in love.
Men’s Retreat is Saturday October 9th

The men of St. Andrew's will have a day retreat at the church on Saturday October 9, beginning at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m. The theme is “Resting in God: Finding our way beyond the pandemic.” All are invited, and there is no charge. A light lunch will be provided. Masks will be required indoors. In addition, a “dutch” fellowship dinner will be held offsite on Friday night, October 8. For information and reservations, contact Doug Sanecki at dpsanecki@gmail.com by October 5.

In the coming weeks you can learn more about the festivities—some old favorites and new additions. Keeping COVID always in mind, this will be a year of challenges. Please contact Lynda Sanecki lsanecki894@gmail.com) or Virginia Haskett (vbhaskett@yahoo.com) to learn more.
