"Home Alone"
I’m sure all of you remember the 1990 movie “Home Alone." As it was on TV the other day, I could not help but smile and realize that this last year or so, we have all been working “Home Alone” and certainly found many days as comical. At first, I enjoyed the new-found freedom of working in casual attire and developing my own work time clock. However, it was not long before frustration developed and contact with other employees and clients became a bit of a nightmare. Simple tasks were taking much more time to accomplish. Thankfully that second phase soon smoothed out and a productive routine was established. It’s amazing how resilient we have become. Like Kevin in the movie, we found out how self-reliant we can be. We learned new ways to adapt and work with the bad guys, develop new relationships and grow professionally and personally. In the end we realize how important our family and network of peers are to our lives. Not sure what the crystal ball for 2022 has in store for us, but one thing is for sure – we will adapt and carry on.

I heard the “Home Alone McCallister Home” is available for overnight stays. For your next trip to Chicago, you might want to check this out: "Rent the ‘Home Alone’ house on Airbnb – New York Post."

If you are also a really big fan, you can add to your Christmas list the Lego version of the McCallister home for a mere $500 on Amazon (Lego Home Alone Exclusive Building Set 21330 : Toys & Games).

As the song says:

Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Let your heart be light
From now on Our troubles
will be out of sight

Through the years we all will be together
If the fates allow
So hang a shining star
Upon the highest bough
