Thank You, Volunteers — You Keep the Blackstone Valley Thriving

This week, we’re proud to celebrate National Volunteer Week alongside the National Park Service  — and to recognize the incredible impact our Volunteers-In-Parks (VIPs) have on the Blackstone Heritage Corridor.

Throughout the year, our volunteers give generously of their time and talents to care for the trails, stories, and historic sites that define the Blackstone Valley. In 2024 alone, over 400 volunteers contributed more than 31.000 hours, supporting everything from community events and interpretive programs to clean-ups and historical preservation.

Because of them, the rich heritage of this region isn’t just remembered — it’s actively protected, interpreted, and passed along to future generations.

Looking for a meaningful way to get involved?

When you volunteer with the Blackstone Heritage Corridor or any of our partner organizations and groups, you become part of a community that values connection, conservation, and public service. It’s a chance to make a real impact and help ensure the Valley’s landscapes and stories continue to inspire all who engage with them. Learn more and sign up here.

Are you a business or institution looking to give back?

Partner with us to plan a Day of Service for your employees or group! It’s a powerful way to build team spirit, support the community, and make a visible difference across the Corridor. Activities can include clean-ups, painting, trail maintenance, gravestone conservation, archives organization, gardening, and so much more. Get started here

To every VIP past and present: thank you. Your care and commitment make the Blackstone Valley the special place it is today.

With gratitude,

The Blackstone Heritage Corridor Team
