Hello Culinary Federation members!
In support of February being Lactose Intolerance Awareness Month, we wanted to showcase our newest launch with you: Galbani Professionale Lactose Free Pizza Mozzarella Shred.
Having a Lactose Free cheese available back of house allows you to offer something on the menu for everyone – and serve the needs of the large and growing lactose intolerant population. It is the same great cheese you and your customer love. Same great taste, browning and stretch. Keeping this in mind, you can now confidently add it to your menu knowing your customer can indulge in cheesy treats without the discomfort.
Did you know that 1 in 5 Canadians are lactose intolerant with as many as 2 in 5 having some degree of lactose intolerance*. Lactose Free Cheese is also growing 26% and is a $35.7M segment. When looking at healthy claims - which have a large importance on menus - Lactose Free is a Top 10 claim.
This 19% shred is not just for pizza. This is where creativity begins. Why not try as a topping on a salad, or warm and melted in a sandwich. How about some cheesy bacon and herb garlic bread? Want an even more unique option? Pizza dog – a hot dog topped with all your favourite pizza toppings. All of these options, and more, will be posted to our new website: www.galbaniprolactosefree.ca. You can even request a free sample on the website!
The possibilities are endless with Lactose Free Pizza Mozzarella. We would love to see what creative menu additions you come up with! Stand out from the competition and meet every consumers’ needs, regardless of their dietary restrictions.
Please reach out to your Lactalis Canada Foodservice team for any details and please request your free sample today!
Craft the best foodservice experience with Lactalis Canada Foodservice. Inspiration starts here.
*Our information is sourced from Canadian Digestive Health Foundation (CDHF) and Nielson.
"Lactose intolerant customers should feel confident they can now indulge in a great pizza experience with our lactose-free offering without discomfort,” says Marie Fennell, president of Topper’s Pizza. “The survey confirms why we need to provide more offerings for people with lactose intolerances. This is the same great mozzarella our customers have come to know and love, which means Topper’s Pizza will now be able to bring more family and friends together at mealtime. Parents have told us they will finally be able to re-discover their love for pizza and enjoy stress-free dinners with their kids.”
