Construction Updates

Retaining Wall Construction

Crews continue construction of one of the retaining walls along eastbound Katella Avenue near the Coyote Creek Channel. Work also includes excavation and reinforcing steel installation for the adjacent concrete barrier, followed by additional barrier construction activities.

Eastbound and Westbound Katella Avenue

The eastbound sidewalk will remain closed. To access the westbound sidewalk, pedestrians should cross at Walnut Street.

This work may be loud. The schedule is subject to change due to weather or unforeseen operational issues.

Upcoming Closures

The following closures may take place nightly from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m., Monday, Oct. 26 through Friday, Oct. 30 (into Saturday morning):

Outside lanes on eastbound and westbound Katella Avenue/Willow Street, at least one lane will be open to traffic at all times.

About the Project

The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA), in cooperation with Caltrans, is improving the local interchange at Interstate 605 (I-605) and Katella Avenue. The project will enhance safety and traffic flow by modifying existing on- and off-ramps, making improvements on Katella Avenue, and improving bicycle and pedestrian facilities.
