The new digital sign is installed and running beautifully! Thank you to all who contributed funds to make this improvement to the church grounds a possibility.
And thank you for your patience as we learn how to update the slides on the sign.
| Dear Northmont, Thank you so much for your prayers, cards, and caring during this time of sorrow after the death of my son Andy. It still is hard to believe it has happened. I loved him so much. Memories of him help and hurt. Again, thank you. – Carol Fandozzi | |

In former times, when women were not permitted to take active roles in worship, the tradition of all-male choirs began. This tradition remains unbroken in many places in England. Boys with unchanged voices sing soprano, and men, singing in falsetto, take the alto part. In many instances, particularly in academic settings, provision must be made for those times when the choir is needed but the boys are away on break. For this reason, an entire body of choral literature exists that uses the forces of alto, tenor, and bass. This Sunday’s anthem is an example of this unique repertoire.
The lovely, small setting of Psalm 121, I will lift up mine eyes, was written in 1909 by Englishman, Ernest Walker. It meets our needs this week when the choir has fewer women. Its lush harmonies and tranquil, meditative organ part seem to evoke the security described in the psalm text: “Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.” Perhaps it is even meant to lull us to sleep! May it be a blessing to you.

NORTHMONT DEACONS’ ANGEL TREE is set up in the foyer by the main entrance from the parking lot. You can help give a proper Christmas to those less fortunate by choosing gift tags from the Angel Tree. Gifts may be brought to the church between Nov. 3 and Dec.1. Please put gift cards in the wrapped shoebox in the church office; place other items (unwrapped) in the marked box in the church library. Last year’s North Hills Community Outreach Toy Drive delivered toys, games, and other gifts to 821 children for the holidays. Northmont has always been a generous church. We pray our efforts will be fruitful again this year in assisting needy families in our community.

After leaving Northmont in 1997, she worked for three years as Director of the Alzheimer’s Unit at a local nursing home. In 2001, she began work at the Holy Family Institute in their In-Home Program and later transitioned to the Family Focused program which involved providing mental health care within the home. She retired from Holy Family in September 2023. | |
