Greetings!
This year the students of The De La Salle School celebrated SPIRIT WEEK in conjunction with Catholic Schools Week which began on 30 January and ran through 5 February. The theme for Catholic Schools Weeks from 2021-2024 is Faith, Excellence, Service. Catholic Schools Week celebrates Catholic education and recognizes the role Catholic schools play in the lives of millions of students across the country. Here at The De La Salle School we recognize the blessings our students have received as a result of their Lasallian Catholic education. The week was filled with a variety of events and programs each coinciding with a different theme each day. Student Council challenged the student body to a “PENNY WARS” with the proceeds benefiting the Outreach program of Our Holy Redeemer Parish.
Mid-term examinations are completed, second quarter grades and report cards have been distributed, and Parent /Teacher conferences are now behind us. The first semester of the 2022-2023 academic year is history, and the student body can look back at their accomplishments and achievements with tremendous pride. Over sixty percent of the student population secured a position on the schools Honor Roll. These young men have worked very hard in order to achieve their goals and are extremely proud of their accomplishments. As we venture forward into the new semester, our De La Salle gentlemen have articulated their hopes and dreams as they set new goals for the next phase of their education.
Our annual Valentine’s Special Person Dance was a rousing success! On Friday, 10 February, the staff transformed the gym into a magnificent Valentine themed ballroom. The school sponsored the event in order for our students to celebrate and appreciate their moms, grandmothers, aunts or other adults who have a special role in their lives and place in their hearts. It was a most enjoyable and moving evening with music provided by Douglas our DJ and with refreshments and decorations enhancing the festivities. A wonderful celebration of family and community here at The De La Salle School!
We are now recruiting our next class, our twenty-second. If you know a young man, currently in the fourth or fifth grade, who could benefit from a Catholic school education and whose family thought they could never afford such an option, please share our story and encourage them to contact the school for further information and or an application.
In the spirit of our brother, Saint La Salle,
William L. Gault
Executive Director
