Earth Day Carnival: Thank You!
Thank you to all who organized, ran a station, brought supplies, participated, and attended the Earth Day Carnival. It was a success with many happy families in attendance.
These senior youth fundraisers support our high schoolers attending the UUA General Assembly in Kansas City, MO this June.

Smartphone Photography Class
Would you be interested in learning how to use your smartphone to take beautiful photographs of your sp ecial events, our gorgeous Maine scenery, or capture images of your family and friends? Steve Thomas and members of our senior youth group would love to teach you how to take and edit your smartphone photos. Interested? Sign up in the Gathering Room and together we’ll pick a date and time for the class. Suggested donation of $25.

Car Detailing
Saturday, May 19, 1 pm - 3 pm
When mud season ends, it’s the right time to get your car’s interior cleaned! For just $40, our senior youth crew will vacuum and clean your car’s interior (professional car detailing services often cost over $100!). Save the date!

THANK YOU — Senior Youth Receive GA Grant!
Our senior youth group applied for and received a $1,000 youth group grant to assist in attending the 2018 UUA General Assembly. These funds come from the UUA’s Annual Program Fund and is supported by Honor Congregations — First U is among those Honor Congregations, as we’ve paid our UUA dues for over 25 years.
Save the Date: Sunday, May 6th after worship. OPEN meeting with Stewardship to learn of next church year's plans for fundraising and financing. Some new ideas, and a balanced budget to be voted on at the June 3 Annual Meeting. This is your chance to be an informed voter!
A Night of Country & Blues
Thursday, May 3, at 7 pm, in the Sanctuary
Join us for a night of country and blues featuring alumni from our very own Senior Youth group! If you were around First U between 2000-2010, you'll probably recognize these musicians. Who knew our very own Yarmouth graduates would start the Christmas Extravaganza Band that would
become Low Flying Airplanes and now they're returning as: Friendship.
Come welcome these hometown heroes back to First U and enjoy the music of Friendship, Kath Bloom, and Hour. Tickets $15 at the door, Children 10 and under free.
Q. When will we know that an interim minister has been chosen?
A. The UUA process of hiring an interim minister is designed so that First U’s Interim Search Committee will have interviewed applicants, successfully recommended a finalist to First U Board, and have a signed contract by the end of May.

As village traditions fade, the people of Torockoszentgyorgy have embraced a "kaláka" project that will reinvigorate their community. Volunteers are expanding their church hall, which is "the heart of our community." Now, they need our help to raise the walls.

Torockoszentgyorgy is one of 3 communities raising funds through Unitarian Kaláka and First Universalist –  now through May 9  you can donate at .

This is Torockoszentgyorgy's story.
