GET INVOLVED!

Our Biblical foundation is still the same. So what's new?

As you come to Him, a Living Stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ."

(1 Peter 2:4-5)

When our Board of Directors decided in 2022 to drop the word GROW from our name and return to our original name, Living Stones, we knew it would take time to make the change. Adding the word GROW, which made sense in 2019 when we determined to grow our ministry, resulted in a cumbersome name that was oftentimes confusing, as was the case in the July 17, 2022, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette article that referred to us as Growing Living Stones. Over the past year, we have been changing the written words as opportunities arose. Changing the logo to remove GROW from the graphic was a more deliberate and focused effort, the results of which we are sharing for the first time here.

When redesigning the logo, we felt it was important to reference food and table fellowship, which are the very heart and soul of who we are and what we do. Hence, the new logo includes an invitation to “come to the table,” where it is our desire that both stomachs and souls be fed. It also includes a visual of stones and a reference to the scripture upon which our name is based. As living stones, called by God to build His Church, we prayerfully seek to obey Him, who is the one true Living Stone, the Church’s very Foundation and Cornerstone, by caring for His people and developing relationships that will raise and strengthen His Spiritual House, one stone at a time.

Even as we were redesigning our logo, we were updating the Living Stones Website, with the primary goal being easier navigation. In addition to making it simpler and easier to use, we also wanted to include more up-to-date information in a way that was both organized and professional. We invite you to click here or visit growlivingstones.com (unfortunately, the domain livingstones is not available, so this will be a reminder that we are still growing!) to view the new and improved Living Stones Website. May it serve to further our Vision and Mission, which you can read about in the drop-down list under Our Story on the new website. Happy exploring!

Living Stones fosters the cultivation of relationships with neighbors who join us for meals. As relationships develop and deepen, Living Stones volunteers come alongside those individuals and families to assist them in navigating the challenges in their lives and encourage them to find hope in Christ as they learn to trust Him.
