If we did not hold dear
The very aspects of
What we cannot see or touch
Only feel”- Maria Lehtman

Our next service will be Sunday August 16th at 10am.

Pastor and Co-Director Diana Friedell will be the emcee. The homily, "How Can We Catch a Cloud? Insights on the Nebulous Nature of Truth" will be presented by Ministerial Cleric, Renee Ranke

Stay tuned to next week's newsletter for details
Gratitude and a Note from the editor:
Thank you to everyone who joined us at our first in person service last Sunday. It was wonderful being able to see you all.
To those who joined us on Facebook, we apologize that the wind made the audio a little challenging. We will try to get that resolved before our next outdoor service!!

More thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make the service a success.
From our greeter, usher, and sign up person, Sherry Roege-Pederson, to Rev. Kristin with her thermometer and health questionnaire, to Tom Landon lending his musical gift, and Rev. Story leading the round table discussion during the Affirmation of Spirit, Maggie Kilbride with her wonderful start to the homily, Ally Sutton-Pyle with her 'roving' camera, Barb Hosier for all of her help, Connie Lull with her offering of home grown vegetables, and of course............none of this could have happened without Rev. Diana doing everything that was needed to ensure that the service went off without a hitch including moving the set up several times (as we tried to hide from the wind), pinch hitting as emcee (with Co-Director Amanda Hoover's beautiful script), adding her entertaining talk to the homily, and just making everything flow.
And to everyone who wasn't named but helped to assemble and disassemble the site and pull together the various pieces that go into every service.............THANK YOU!!

More thanks to Secretary and ISD member, Susan Owens and ISD member Ally Sutton-Pyle who are still hard at work pulling information together for a new ISD church directory through Instant Church Directory Online.
Stay tuned!! We will be reaching out to you shortly with additional information and details on how to enroll

Still on the lookout for any prayers for our Facebook 'Prayerful Moment', any additions to the newsletter under 'And the Good News Is', or anything else that you would like to see included in the newsletter. Please reach out to me with any contributions, input, or suggestions!! Email me at

Let’s join together in the spirit of Love to explore, communicate and develop!!

Allowing Abundance
Next circle is Tuesday August 25th
This circle, facilitated by Elke Saal, will meet monthly on the fourth Tuesday of the month.
Based on the Abraham Hicks teachings and using principles of intention we will deepen our understanding of allowing abundance into our lives. As “Like attracts Like” we need to feel what we desire emotionally before it can manifest into the reality that we prefer. We will strengthen our intentions for abundance with the support of the group energy field.

Don't forget that we are here for you during these challenging times
The ISD Adult Education Committee implemented some changes to tuition, as a way to assist people who might not be able to afford our classes and workshops given the current challenging financial climate.
We have discounted some of our standard prices and have even given you the option of registering for free! Yup, free!
  • When you click on the registration page, you will find an option to take the class at suggested prices (quoted) and there will also be an option to register for free
  • We also will be offering a 'Donate' button on the event landing page so that you can 'pay what you can' or donate the tuition for someone less fortunate.....
  • If there is a course that you have already taken, but you wish to attend again, we are offering you the option to 'review' for half price

I am dust particles in sunlight.
I am the round sun.
To the bits of dust I say, Stay.
To the sun, Keep moving.
I am morning mist,
and the breathing of evening.
I am wind in the top of a grove,
and surf on the cliff.
Mast, rudder, helmsman, and keel,
I am also the coral reef they founder on.
I am a tree with a trained parrot in its branches.
Silence, thought, and voice.
The musical air coming through a flute,
a spark of stone, a flickering in metal.
Both candle and the moth crazy around it.
Rose, and the nightingale lost in the fragrance.
I am all orders of being, the circling galaxy,
the evolutionary intelligence, the lift, and the falling away.
What is, and what isn’t.
You who know, Jelaluddin,
You the one in all, say who I am.
Say I am you.
- Rumi | Say I Am You
And the Good News Is!!!!!

Any golfers in the crowd? It looks like this year's PGA Championship has begun even though it was postponed from May until August. And all of the players and caddies have cleared the COVID-19 testing protocols. Check out the MSN article Here

Severely ill patients are more likely to survive now compared to a few months ago. Deaths of COVID-19 patients in intensive care units have fallen by nearly a third in North America, Asia, and Europe. Read the UPI article Here

Good news from the other side of the pond. The Oxford City Council has secured 124 rooms of interim housing for the next year, ensuring that there will be no need to return to the streets for former homeless citizens that were housed in hotels and student blocks during the coronavirus crisis. Oh, yeah, and to date there have been no confirmed cases of the virus among the homeless in Oxford thanks to the UK government's 'everyone inside' directive. Read the Good News Network article Here

This is pretty cool!! Another one from the Good News Network, this article is about a new smart mask that can amplify voices, transcribe dictation, and translate speech into 8 different languages. How much would you pay for one of those? Looks like it may be awhile before they get to us, but projected cost is only between $40 and $50 dollars. Check out the article Here

Do you or someone you know need some assistance with mental health issues or coping during this pandemic period. Here is a link to the US Department of Health & Human Services that will provide you with resources and tools to help deal with the stress of this time.

Do you have coronavirus questions?
Here is an interesting article from CNN that may answer some of them. Questions like, "When are people with coronavirus most contagious?" and "How safe are public restrooms?"

Help us to raise the money to pay ISD National for our hymnals.
You are invited to dedicate an ISD Oneonta hymnal in the name of a loved one. For a donation of $35 a custom bookplate will be permanently placed in a hymnal.
You may dedicate it to the Memory of a friend or loved one who has died; OR you may present it "in Honor of:" a living friend or loved one, who you would like to honor- as a gift to mark a special occasion, or just to thank them.

Simple to do, click on the below link, fill out the form, and press send!
Just a reminder that we are continuing our Prayer Warriors group, every day at 5pm we pause to pray and send our healing energies where they are most needed right now

Each day at 5 PM EST, we will pause for about 10 minutes and meditate and pray with the intention of sending healing energy to all.
You do not have to be present each day. Requests for healing or suggestions should be submitted to our Healing Program director, Jo Ann Wormuth at the below ISD website link:
