Happy Mother's Day

We, at ISD ,would like to wish the happiest of Mother's Days to all
Mothers. Those that are here with us and those who have crossed to the other side. We love you and we thank you for all you have given us

A Heart That Prays
Some have had kings in their lineage
Some to whom honor was paid.
Not blest of my ancestors—but,
I have a mother who prays.

I have a mother who prays for me
And pleads with the Lord every day for me.
Oh what a difference it makes for me—
I have a mother who prays.
Some have worldly success
And trust in riches they’ve made—
This is my surest asset,
I have a mother who prays.

My mother’s prayers cannot save me,
Only mine can avail;
But mother introduced me to Someone—
Someone who never could fail.

Oh yes, I have a mother who prays for me
And pleads with the Lord every day for me.
O what a difference it makes for me—
I have a mother who prays.

Rock Me to Sleep

Backward, turn backward, O Time, in your flight,
Make me a child again just for tonight!
Mother, come back from the echoless shore,
Take me again to your heart as of yore;
Kiss from my forehead the furrows of care,
Smooth the few silver threads out of my hair;
Over my slumbers your loving watch keep;—
Rock me to sleep, mother, – rock me to sleep!

Backward, flow backward, O tide of the years!
I am so weary of toil and of tears,—
Toil without recompense, tears all in vain,—
Take them, and give me my childhood again!
I have grown weary of dust and decay,—
Weary of flinging my soul-wealth away;
Weary of sowing for others to reap;—
Rock me to sleep, mother – rock me to sleep!

Tired of the hollow, the base, the untrue,
Mother, O mother, my heart calls for you!
Many a summer the grass has grown green,
Blossomed and faded, our faces between:
Yet, with strong yearning and passionate pain,
Long I tonight for your presence again.
Come from the silence so long and so deep;—
Rock me to sleep, mother, – rock me to sleep!

Over my heart, in the days that are flown,
No love like mother-love ever has shone;
No other worship abides and endures,—
Faithful, unselfish, and patient like yours:
None like a mother can charm away pain
From the sick soul and the world-weary brain.
Slumber’s soft calms o’er my heavy lids creep;—
Rock me to sleep, mother, – rock me to sleep!

Come, let your brown hair, just lighted with gold,
Fall on your shoulders again as of old;
Let it drop over my forehead tonight,
Shading my faint eyes away from the light;
For with its sunny-edged shadows once more
Haply will throng the sweet visions of yore;
Lovingly, softly, its bright billows sweep;—
Rock me to sleep, mother, – rock me to sleep!

Mother, dear mother, the years have been long
Since I last listened your lullaby song:
Sing, then, and unto my soul it shall seem
Womanhood’s years have been only a dream.
Clasped to your heart in a loving embrace,
With your light lashes just sweeping my face,
Never hereafter to wake or to weep;—
Rock me to sleep, mother, – rock me to sleep!

Some Motherly Words of Wisdom
Our own ISD family member,Kacy Meier, passed away on March 24, 2020 in South Carolina.

Those of you who have attended church services will remember Kacy as the lady who sat in the front row with her family and her best friend Scruffy.

Prayers and blessings on this Mother's Day to her children, Kelley and Karl and the rest of her family. We send you much love!!

Kacy contributed a couple of articles to our newsletter last year, and in honor of her on Mother's Day, we are dusting off one of them from December 2019. Timeless motherly wisdom from Kacy!!!
by Kacy Meier
Y'all remember Kacy, right? Scruffy's mom who comes to church, often with her grandchildren, and sits in the front row with Scruffy. (See fake photo left.) Kacy has huge wisdom to share with us, and I (Sue) asked her to write some things for our newsletter, and she has sent her first two installments. What follows is installment one:

"People are People are People"

Outer coloration does not make people different. People from different parts of the world have different skin color because of the weather where their people developed. It does not tell what the people are like, only what the weather was like where they lived long ago. This earth is populated by one people of different colors.

Just as flowers come in many colors, so do people. The outer color means nothing. It is what the people are like inside that counts. Their minds and hearts are what is important. Learn to look past skin color and see into the people you meet. Get to know others. Learn their hopes and fears and you will find they are a lot like you.

Once we accept the fact that we are all one people maybe we will find a way to live together as one people. We could have a united earth if we want it. Boundaries and nations are human-made. They can be unmade. People are people are people.

If you would like to read more about Kacy's life or pay your respects, here is a link to her obituary from the Daily Star:

Don't forget to join us every day at 5pm as we pause to pray and send our healing energies where they are most needed right now

Calling all ISD Energy Healers and Prayer Warriors

A message from Jo Ann Wormuth:
Our thoughts have great power. When we focus those thoughts in a group consciousness with a singular intention, miracles will happen.
As Director of the ISD Healing Program, I am seeking volunteers to come together as a family with a daily healing and prayer.
We will set an intention to transmute COVID 19 worldwide, pray for the well-being of our dear Mother Earth, and send healing to our friends and family members.
Each day at 5 PM EST, we will pause for about 10 minutes and meditate and pray with the intention of sending healing energy to all.
You do not have to be present each day. Requests for healing or suggestions should be submitted at the below ISD website l ink:
