"The theological virtue of hope is the patient and trustful willingness to live without closure, without resolution, and still be content and even happy because our Satisfaction is now at another level, and our Source is beyond ourselves."

And the Good News Is!!!!!

Feeling stressed? Really, who isnât in these unprecedented times? We have all heard that stress is detrimental to us emotionally and physically. But, is it possible that the way we that we think about stress is more detrimental to us than actually experiencing stress? Here is a TED talk given by Kelly McGonigal, a health psychologist in 2013, âHow to Make Stress Your Friendâ that speaks to the fact that the way we think about stress may be more detrimental than stress itself. It is quite an interesting and entertaining video, I highly recommend taking ten minutes to watch it!

Some good news to come out of Covid QuarantineâŠ..It seems as if many people have rediscovered their love of nature. Check out the Good New Network article Here that talks about a recent poll conducted by the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation where 58% of the 2,000 Americans polled say that they didnât appreciate nature has much as they should have in the Pre-Covid days. As we head into autumn, now is a great time to get out and enjoy natureâs beauty!

We have shared this one before but is well worth resharing. This class is the most popular one at Yale. Yale psychology professor Dr. Laurie Santos expected 40 students to sign up for her 2018 class, âPsychology and the Good Lifeâ. Over 1,000 students signed up, or 1 in every 4 Yale students. A free online version, entitled The Science of Well Being was released and more than 2 million people in 200 countries have signed up. Enrollment for this Yale class is free and honestly this is a subject that we can all benefit from. Check out the details Here
These links will remain here so that you will easily be able to find them if you have a need:

Do you or someone you know need some assistance with mental health issues or coping during this pandemic period. Here is a link to the US Department of Health & Human Services that will provide you with resources and tools to help deal with the stress of this time.

Do you have coronavirus questions? Here is an interesting article from CNN that may answer some of them. Questions like, "When are people with coronavirus most contagious?" and "How safe are public restrooms?"

Got Bottles & Cans to return?
ISD has a CLYNK account at Hannaford in Oneonta.
How can I help?
Go to the Lotus Center, 41-45 Dietz St., and even if the door is locked, you will see stickers in the plastic flyer display holder on the wall to the LEFT of the Door, under the prayer flags.ï»ż
Take one to put on each bag that you are bringing to Hannaford- Ask someone there where the bags go. With that correct tag on it, the bottle deposit money goes directly into the ISD Oneonta Account.
Thank you to all who have brought in your 5 cent returnables for us to return, and to Connie Lull for delivering to Hannaford.
We have built up about $160 for ISD just from returning our cans!
Thank you!

Help us to raise the money to pay ISD National for our hymnals.
You are invited to dedicate an ISD Oneonta hymnal in the name of a loved one. For a donation of $35 a custom bookplate will be permanently placed in a hymnal.
You may dedicate it to the Memory of a friend or loved one who has died; OR you may present it "in Honor of:" a living friend or loved one, who you would like to honor- as a gift to mark a special occasion, or just to thank them.
Simple to do, click on the below link, fill out the form, and press send!

Just a reminder that we are continuing our Prayer Warriors group, every day at 5pm we pause to pray and send our healing energies where they are most needed right now
Each day at 5 PM EST, we will pause for about 10 minutes and meditate and pray with the intention of sending healing energy to all.
You do not have to be present each day. Requests for healing or suggestions should be submitted to our Healing Program director, Jo Ann Wormuth at the below ISD website link:
