'Buford' , as he was known, earned his B.S. and M.S. from the University of North Alabama and a Ph.D. from Georgia State University. He was a teacher at the Jonesboro and Bremen school systems, worked at the University of Georgia Extension Center, Assistant Superintendent in the Cedartown City School System, Superintendent of the Bremen City Schools, Superintendent of the Cartersville City Schools, Georgia Legislative Lobbyist for the Georgia School System, Educational Consultant with Southern A.E, LLC and Professor at Piedmont College. Mr. Arnold had a Rotarian Scholarship with the University of Oslo, in Norway. Buford's passion above all was to help his students achieve their educational goals.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 12 p.m. - 3 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, where the service will be held at 3:00 p.m. . Randal Foster, Stanley McCain, Donald Slate, and Eric Arnold will officiate the service. Burial will be in Bear Creek Cemetery.

He is survived by his Wife, Billie Mann Arnold; children, Todd (Jackie) Slate, Bremen, GA, and Eric Arnold, Tampa, FL; Sister, Sybil (Tommy) Tomlinson, Danville, AL; Sister in law, Jackie (Kermit) Breed; nieces, Seville deOnis, Jane Breed, and Rhonda Thompson; Nephew, Arnold Wade Tomlinson; and neighbor, Deanna McDaniel.

He is preceded in death by his parents and first Wife, Betty Ann Slate-Arnold.

In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make donations to the church or charity of their choice in Mr. Arnold's honor.
