A MEMO

FROM OUR HR OFFICER

Hello and happy Spring!

As we move into a heavy testing season, I want to say thank you for all of the hard work you have put in this far and the role you have played in student success.

I look forward to hosting our Spring Recruitment Weekend April 22nd-23rd and adding more quality talent to the BCS team. During the Recruitment Weekend, we will host a meet and greet at The Pixel Room Selfie Museum and also an on-site interview and hiring event at Carver High School. I hope that you all will consider referring BCS to family and friends who may be interested in applying as we strive to make Birmingham City Schools the school district of choice in the Southeast.

Please don't hesitate to reach out if my team or I can be of assistance to you. Your experience at BCS is important to us and we want to ensure you have the resources and support you need.

The Alabama Ethics Law requires that public employees at an annual salary level of $81,000 or more or having any supervisory role, regardless of salary level, in the prior year, file an annual Statement of Economic Interests, or SEI, with the Commission by April 30.

ALL BCS employees to which this requirement applies will receive an email from the Human Resources Department notifying them that they must complete the form, along with a link to the online form, https://seiform.alabama.gov/, and instructions which are available here.

Transfer Period

This year, we are moving to an electronic process for accepting Voluntary Teacher Transfer requests. With this process, we are hoping to provide a simple and efficient way for our teachers to apply for a voluntary transfer. Teachers interested in applying for a transfer must complete an Internal Application online and apply to the appropriate job posting by April 29, 2022. By applying through this portal, you are agreeing to the transfer to another school in the District by request of that school’s principal in Teach in Alabama.

Click below for step-by-step instructions.
