Hello all!

We're less than a month away from the last day of school, and I can't thank each of you enough for your dedication to our district, our students and our communities this school year.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our Spring Recruitment Weekend April 22nd-23rd. We extended offers to more than 36 candidates, and I'm excited for them to join the BCS family!

As we wrap up the 2021-2022 school year, let's all make sure we are checking off necessary tasks such as completing evaluations/observations and certification renewals.

As always, let my team and I know how we can be of assistance to you as we continue striving to make Birmingham City Schools the District of choice in the Southeast.

Reminder: Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Have you utilized the new EAP? The new program provides financial, physical and also mental wellness support for all staff members and your family members. We encourage you to take advantage of the tools and services offered to help you solve problems that may affect your personal or work life.

We want to ensure every staff member feels supported at BCS. Let the HR team know if you have any questions about the EAP.

Evaluations

As a reminder, all classified employees are required to have a professional development plan and a yearly evaluation. If an employee holds professional or educational certifications and works in a classified position, they must complete a PDP and be evaluated with the appraisal. Contact the HR team if you have any questions and/or concerns.
