District 42 Toastmasters
Monthly Dispatch
October 2021

Welcome to October - one of my favourite months of the year! October brings with it beautiful fall foliage, a bounty of goodies at Farmer’s Markets, the Canadian football season ramping up, the hockey season starting, Thanksgiving and Halloween. October also sees us Toastmasters setting our goals for the year and getting out of our comfort zone by participating in speech contents! This month’s Dispatch has inspiration for every Toastmaster to help them reach their full potential and get the most out of being a Toastmaster. Happy reading and Happy Thanksgiving to all District 42 Toastmasters! Find out what is happening in our District. We look forward to your feedback.

As I was shaking my head, feeling sorry for the underdog, I remembered something I once heard Wayne Gretzky say in an interview: “When you are winning, the game is always too long, when you’re losing, it’s never long enough.” Read More...

Big salutes and congratulations to the two clubs in our district, Wascana Club and Dynamically Speaking, who have already added five new members as of September 15, and we are still 15 days before the deadline for the prestigious Smedley Club Award. Read More...
