COUNCIL REPORT
Here is the December 2021 Council Meeting Report to the congregation. If you have questions or comments please contact me or any other Church Council member.
FINANCES: For only the second month this year our income did not cover expenses. We are OK because for 10 months our income exceeded expenses and that offset the November income decline. As Peace Lutheran continues to increase our ministry options and add programing after the Covid slowdown, our expenses will increase. Thank you for all you give to Peace Lutheran. Give what you can afford and remember that all offerings large or small are appreciated. Most importantly, continue to pray for our church.
SANCTUARY PROJECTORS: By the time you read this our new projectors should be installed and you should notice a large improvement in the readability of what’s on the wall. A huge thank you to all church members who donated extra money to this project.
YOUTH DIRECTOR: A new Youth Director has been hired with the individual being jointly employed by Peace Lutheran and Faith Lutheran Church in Spicer. Specific Information about our new director, and when he will begin working, will be released shortly. MUSIC
COORDINATOR: We are still in need of a part-time music coordinator. If anyone is interested in the position and would like more information, call Pastor Todd.
ANNUAL MEETING: Remember our churches Annual Meeting with be held on January 23rd with January 30th being the backup date. Please plan on attending. Our treasurer Gail Olson has been working on the 2022 budget and all other information and reports for the meeting booklet are due in the church office by January 9th.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: We are in need of volunteers to join the Church Council and Church Committees. Every year the church elects four new council members. Covid has put a damper on committee work and committee membership. The Memorial Trust Committee plus others need volunteers. Please considering helping out your church by being a volunteer. I think you might find that volunteering for church work can be very rewarding.
DAY CARE: Day care at Peace Lutheran??? Peace has been approached by an organization to run a day care program at our church. This proposal is in a preliminary stage at this time and more information will be forthcoming. Dave Feist and Rick Swenson from the council, plus Pastor Todd, are studying the proposal.
THE FUTURE OF PEACE: You may recall that last fall the council plus all church staff participated in a retreat with the only discussion topic being how to proceed in moving our church forward. Throughout the next months these ideas will be discussed at future council meetings.
This concludes my December report. Thanks for taking the time to read this report.
