Jazz and Fiddlers Royal Room Performances June 13

Don’t miss the end of year Jazz Concert at Royal Room. This is the only jazz concert. It’s a small venue and we want to make sure there is enough room for all families to see the performances, so be ready for elbow to elbow fun.

The following groups will perform:

  • Fiddlers
  • Vocal Jazz
  • Jazz Lab
  • Ballard Big Band

Royal Room performers must turn in their concert attire the next morning before 1st period (Wednesday, 6/14) unless they are performing at graduation on 6/23.

Concert Uniforms - Turn them in!

All concert uniforms should be turned in by tomorrow, Wednesday, 6/14, unless a student is performing at graduation. (Groups performing at graduation: Concert Choir, Advanced Chorale, Wind Ensemble, and selected percussionists.)

After graduation on 6/23, concert attire will be collected at Memorial Stadium. Students will be changing into their street clothes in the locker rooms at the end of graduation. Make sure to have all the pieces originally assigned (bow ties, necklaces, etc.)  in the garment bag that evening. Families are responsible for the replacement cost of anything that is missing.

Congratulations, Seniors - Read All About Them!

Stay Involved in Band this Summer — Join All City Band!

All City Band is a super fun summer band opportunity that focuses on marching band skills and performances at various parades throughout the area, including the Seafair Torchlight parade.

The All-City Band was started in 1951 as an answer to the question of how to have school programs represented in Seattle area summer celebrations when the schools are closed and the bands are not meeting. The band was started to fill this void and since then has served as the summer ambassador for school music programs.

The program typically runs for about 7 weeks. Rehearsals are typically Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights with performances most weekends. Highlights of the summer typically include the West Seattle Hi Yu Festival, Olympia Lakefair, and the Seafair Torchlight Parades.

Registration is $250 and students can receive service hours and/or half a fine arts credit (financial aid is available).

Register for All City Band here: https://www.allcityband.org/registration

Sign up to Chaperone Band Camp

As we near the end of the school year, we at BPAB are already getting excited for the coming year. We are excited to be starting the year with BAND CAMP Sept 8-10. Be sure to get the dates on your calendar now. Because band is the first group to head out to camp, we like to get our chaperones organized before summer starts.

For parents, it's a great way to meet fellow band parents and to get to know the great kids your child will get to hang out with for the year. It's fairly low key, a great chance to socialize, play some cards, hem some marching band uniforms, or sit by the lake and read a book. Details in the SignUp Genius - Join us!

All parents must be approved by SPS as parent volunteers. We encourage you to do this in June to ensure that processing happens before school starts. If you are already approved, please verify the expiration date on your approval by logging in to the Volunteer Portal. All volunteer info can be found at https://www.seattleschools.org/departments/volunteer/.
