Guided Riverbend Birdwalk - Saturday, July 10th at 10:00 am

Join Dr. Steve Hale from Open World Explorers for a Summer Bird Walk at West Newbury's Riverbend Conservation Area.

We will slow walk the River Road and Tupelo Trails in search of the spectacular breeding birds that nest along the mighty Merrimack, including warblers, vireos, thrushes and more. We will also be on the lookout for eagles and Osprey cruising the Merrimack River corridor.

What to bring? binoculars, field guide, tick prevention and water. Masks and social distancing are highly recommended.

you laughing and wondering. Umbrellas plucked from thin air, basketballs spun & juggled,
and maybe you will be called on to assist him.
Bring the family and don't forget a blanket to sit on.

Teen Advisory Group Events
Teen & Tween Craft Kits
Once every other week, pick up a craft from the library. This week we are making Woodland Animal Bookmarks. Stop by the library to get your supplies and directions. Crafts are limited so make sure to swing by the library to get your kit. This will be available from July 5 - 16. Watch our calendar for the next craft kit on July 19th.

Teen Creative Writing Club

Let's make a short story! Every other week we’ll be discussing techniques on how to write a short story, from the characters to the plot to the dialogue. The goal is to write one short story by the end of the summer.

OverDrive Update
The MVLC OverDrive collection now has two new "Reading Rooms." The Teens Room contains curated lists of YA eBooks and audiobooks, and the Available Now Room includes lists of all titles currently available with no holds, no wait. On the MVLC OverDrive website, these rooms appear on the top menu just beneath the logo. In the Libby app, they are listed as "Guides" just below the top banner. Check them out!

Who Done It? Mystery Book Group

Dyeing to Wear It: Silk Dyeing Workshop
Monday, July 26th - 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Dyeing to Wear It” is an interactive workshop where participants will create a beautiful and versatile piece of wearable art. Join textile artist, Rhonda Fazio, for a class infused with storytelling about textile history from the region and around the world, and learn how this history intersects with our shared American culture. This class will focus on the design and function of the classic silk scarf/tie. Each design will be its own unique and beautiful piece of wearable art made entirely by you. Each color is hand crafted from natural, raw materials extracted without the use of harmful chemicals. All materials included. This event will be outdoors on Library grounds. In the event of rain, we will reschedule.
