Dear Members of our International Community:

Yesterday, the President of the United States signed a presidential proclamation to fully restrict and limit the entry of nationals from 12 countries and partially restrict and limit the entry of nationals from seven countries to the United States. For details, see the White House’s Fact Sheet. 

International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) will email the students and scholars who are directly impacted by this proclamation under separate cover. 

ISSS is closely monitoring the implementation of this proclamation and will post updates on its Immigration News and Updates webpage. Please visit it regularly to check for new information and updates. 

We recognize that this proclamation may add further stress to our international community. Our university offers a range of services to support you, including:

• International Students & Scholars (ISSS): Immigration advising and counseling 
• Graduate School’s Student Support Services: Academic assistance/advice and resource connections 
• UMD Counseling Center: Mental health and personal support for students
• Faculty Staff Assistance Program: Short-term counseling for employees
